The property was beautiful. A small, intimate property where we got to watch monkeys in the palm trees and the ocean from our bed. It was wonderful. The food was great - the restaurant served a great selection and breakfast was perfect. Eddie was a star on reception and in the restaurant. It couldn’t have been better.

The road is a steep hill not well maintained. we eventually could drive it but the car got hit underneath by the rocks. This is a couples hotel so my 25 year old daughter was bored. there were not many activities around except for the beaches. we did not see any wildlife except for iguanas.

the view were amazing, the pool was very nice, the gardens beautifully done. the food was excellent (except the beans and rice). in the morning and night we could hear the animals in the jungle.

Just be aware that the road up to the hotel is a gravel track, quite steep in places. The final bit is the driveway which is concrete but super steep so be ready for it. Our two wheel drive rental managed it OK but there was a bit of wheel spin. Worth it when you get there though.

Everything! This place is an absolute gem and I really wish we had more nights here. Excellent value for money. The view from our balcony was sensational and we spotted a white faced monkey, agouti and many different birds in just a few hours of being there. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the food at Bamboo was delicious. It's all about that view though.

Steep drive up the mountain- you need a 4wd. Can’t walk to anything from the hotel.

Beautiful property; exceptional views from private balcony. Bedrooms are quite small but very comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast; the staff were very nice. Beautiful pool. wish we could have stayed for the live music.

She went above and beyond helping us as we stayed in South Pacific for 2 weeks even when we were not staying at Alma de Ojochal at that time. Beautiful property with outstanding views overlooking the jungle towards the sea and the backdrop of the mountains. Exemplary staff, rooms appointed and tastefully decorated. Will return for home base to explore more of Costa Rica.

The driveway into the hotel is somewhat dangerous at the top and road into requires SUV and possible 4w drive on rainy days. I'd be surprised if a compact car can even make it up the road yet alone the driveway.

I only gave a 9/10 for location, because you have to drive about 2 kilometres on a bumpy gravel road to get there. still, too be honest, it was well worth the effort.

This hotel is beautiful. It is situated in a quiet spot tucked away in the jungle. Our room e really was clean and comfortable and the service at the hotel was top notch. We did our activities in the mornings and relaxed near the pool room n the late afternoons. They have a good restaurant as well. The owners provide live music on Saturdays and Mondays. We really enjoyed their shows. We saw parrots and even a toucan while eating breakfast. That was very cool!

The mountain road to get there was extremely ruff.

The view was amazing. Breakfast was included. The Bamboo restaurant on site was open 4 nights with entertainment .The food was excellent and the owner John provided great tunes .

the decor of the bedroom didn’t match the very modern and luxurious bathroom

the fact there are only 5 rooms means it’s beautifully tranquil and feels very exclusive. there is a great view from the pool which is lovely to relax around. the attached restaurant and bar is great fun and has a lively atmosphere

Rooms were comfortable but a bit small. The bathroom is not completely seperated from the room itelf. You have a feeling like this was a lower end hotel turned into a boutique hotel.

Lovely place with nice views, swimming pool and, finally, a large bed! Also staff were very nice and very helpful with several matters such as luggage

The rooms and communal space are simple and beautiful, with stunning views. Breakfast was delicious, served on the patio overlooking the pool area and the jungle and sea beyond. Loads of birds and squirrels to watch in the trees, and some folks were lucky enough to see monkeys. We were fortunate that the Bamboo Room was open for dinner and music and enjoyed the band's performance very much - the owner is in the band, which made is particularly fun. The hotel is close to local beaches and restaurants and a great mid-point stay on the way to Drake Bay.
