A bit funky. Noisy, close to busy hi way

Room was clean but in need of renovation. Problematic for allergic people. Mold on the walls of some rooms. Staff sometimes unfriendly. I was with a group and two friends had their bookings cancelled without notice one day prior to arrival. Called the hotel rightly after the cancellation and they said they couldn‘t do anything. It was booking.com‘s fault and they were booked out. Called booking.com and they said it was the hotel‘s fault. Result: My friends had stay in another hotel, so we were apart during our stay in SJ. Not nice. Some days loud parties during the night. Hard to sleep if you are noise sensitive

Cozy hotel if you have the right room. Breakfast next to the garden, nice atmosphere. Gym, breakfast, wifi okay. Good location and coffee. Very good restaurant in the hotel, cafe kracovia

Mix-up when we arrived. There was uncertainty re. which rooms we had. This resulted in having to change rooms late in the evening.

The Uber app didn't let me use the hotel as a pick up point, but I texted the driver and he could find me easily.

I like most things about this hotel. The common areas inside were well decorated and the outside garden was enchanting. My room was clean and comfortable, with a view to the garden. And breakfast was quite satisfying.

My sheets did not seem clean they smelled of dirty feet Blankets could be replaced they are also old. I think clean sheets is a must, even with a frequent turnaround with guests.

One of the best locations in San Jose, , nice, well equipped rooms, delicious breakfast and super friendly staff who accomodated our ask for unusually long luggage storage with a smile and resounding "yes, sure, no problem", certainly not the case at many other places. Highly reco.mended and We will be bavk soon.

There was no air conditioning, just a ceiling fan

Breakfast was excellent, and always served with a smile. The place is a lovely homely hotel, not a cookie cutter chain, but a place to relax in that feels like the traditional Costa Rica. Security was good and lovely to wake up and walk outside to hummingbirds and butterflies

Isolated from the historical/museums area of San Jose (need taxi/Uber), hard to walk outside anywhere because of location - you need to be relatively in form to walk outside, and this hampered my enjoyment of the place (my age and mobility problems). Google maps and similar do not show sharp inclines everywhere. Except for breakfast and a couple of dishes in restaurant, typical local food not offered.

Very nice hotel, beautiful decoration, nice staff, clean rooms, good wifi, very silent with birds chirping early in the morning, very good breakfast options, within 20 - 35 minute walk to University of Costa Rica - which is good if you have meetings there. Ideal to isolate yourself from the world. Nice restaurant inside hotel, with many Polish specialties.

More wardrope space for the clothes would be appreciated. Breakfast was good, but not very varied.

Clean hotel, kind staff. Room with very comfortable beds, nets for protection against mosquitos on windows. Close to the university campus with large green area.

Lovely oasis in San Jose. Peaceful and tucked away from busier streets. Comfortable rooms with plenty of spaces around the property to hang out. Delicious breakfast everyday and friendly, accommodating staff. Would recommend to anyone!

Breakfast starts at 7; we arrived at 7:15 after a van full of travelers. Buffet was never really replenished or checked. Staff was still helpful and delivered food from menu to the table. To be expected from a smaller hotel, You can hear people in the hall ways and doors shutting. No worries, it gets super quiet at night. Nothing out of the ordinary for hotels this size and type in my opinion.

Our room did not have A/C, at check-in in the afternoon - I was worried, but the room never got hot. At night such a cool breeze came inside the room, I learned an A/C is not needed. In fact the room not having A/C made the stay more enchanting. This property is a truly enchanting experience. The café in front of the hotel is such a tasty place to eat dinner. Hotel is located walking distance to a mall with a great food court and other nice restaurants. The property is also a short 10 dollar taxi cab ride to the center of town with museums, churches, and shopping.

Only tiny issue is a well hidden entry by car up a slope. Not much that can be done about that.

The place is full of character. There's a chessboard, coffee machine, nice garden and a pleasant breakfast was served. The place suited our needs as a gateway for heading south by road.

The fact that Uber cars could not pick me up at the hotel reception. I had to walk to one of the ICR gates.
