Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

We would have liked a better selection at breakfast. There was nowhere to get a snack or hot drink except while the restaurant was open. It is quite a long way to walk (you wouldn't want to drive, as there was a near permanent traffic jam outside) to any other place for food or drinks.
The bedrooms at El Rodeo are enormous and have all the facilities you would expect in a good three star hotel. It was a very quiet and comfortable place to stay There are plenty of facilities for leisure such as pool table, swimming pool and a large restaurant and the grounds are refreshingly rural looking for an urban hotel. The service in the restaurant was good (Breakfast and dinner) and the food tasty. There was ample parking and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The restaurant staff were exceptional, and the entire place felt like an oasis in the middle of chaos. Was very secure and safe, the hotel staff were outstanding (especially Michaela) and everyone was wonderful.

It was a bit noisy during the day, but I understand that the building needs to be taken care of as someone said twice a year. I also would like to have access to a fridge and a microwave.
We enjoyed the atmosphere and the beauty of the landscaping, and the singing of the birds, and even the cacophony of the insects.

Check in was a disaster. Late night after a very stressful taxi ride from the airport. Front Desk had closed for the night so we were left pretty much on our own.
An authentic Old World hotel! Well taken care of and good amenities. Woke up to the delightful sound of one of the young housekeepers cheerfully singing a melody En Español! Charming.

Poor wifi. Really slow breakfast service. We had to leave without eating because we were about to miss our flight (even though we arrived in advance). Weak toilet flush.

Steakhouse was a little expensive... I knew it would be (it is a steakhouse after all), but I wish there were a few cheaper options.

Everything was fine except we didn’t get to enjoy it long enough. Also, we arrived on Sunday afternoon and weren’t aware that the restaurant closed at 5 pm. We would have eaten there if it would have been open later.
The property was spacious and had many amenities; pool, hot tub, on site restaurant, event space, free parking, hi speed internet, and spa services. It was well decorated and maintained.

Nice place to visit upon arriving in Costa Rica. It's not too far from the airport, and offers spacious rooms in a pleasant environment. A delightful place to stay.

We stayed on two different dates in two different rooms. The first one was fine but the second one seemed a bit less clean with an odd smell, maybe the furniture was older, overall it wasn't as comfortable as our first stay.
Super clean, nice hotel, good choice if you want to stay close to the airport. Staff was friendly and helpful.

This is a lovely property with friendly staff and a steak restaurant on site. It has good facilities like a swimming pool, tennis court and children's play area. The beds are comfy and the bedroom is clean and spacious. From my perspective this is the ideal place to stay if you need to put your head down for an early flight the next day whether it's from the domestic or international airport. We arrived from London the day we stayed and had a flight out the next day so it was ideally located near the airport but still in a pretty setting.
