Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesWe booked a quadruple room bc we had anticipated some friends potentially joining us but they put us in a double room saying we only paid for 2 people so we don't need the quadruple even though that is what we chose when booking. I had both options and we opted for the quadruple in case friends came to stay 1 or 2 nights in which case we would have paid more directly to the hotel. Also, 99% of Costa Rica accepts Credit Cards at this time and this hotel did not which I was not fond of....5 nights and over $600 later, it would have been nice to be able to use my travel credit card but we were informed prior to arriving. Had to pay with cash, paypal, or sinpe.
The place was fine everything we were looking for.

Costa RicaIt isn't really a hotel - there was no formal check-in, no receptionist, no regular cleaning service, no food services. The only staff we saw during our stay was the cleaner. - The room didn't have a fridge (but there's a shared kitchen & fridge at the back of the property) - We had to message a number on WhatsApp to have our towels and shower gel replenished, and our sheets changed, otherwise it would not have been done. - The mattress was old and very uncomfortable; the springs dug into our backs and limbs. - Mono Loco only accepts cash, Paypal, or Venmo - they don't accept credit cards. - The accommodation is what we would expect for ~$50-$100CAD/night, not $240 CAD/night.
The location was great - a very short walk to Tamarindo Beach. The southern stretch of beach seemed to have fewer people so we enjoyed that aspect. It is slightly removed from the busier area of Tamarindo, so it was relatively quiet at night. The courtyard garden/fountain area is beautiful. The air conditioner worked well.

CanadaEntrance looks like an horror movie Nobody at front desk upon arrival. Wait 30 minutes and nobody showed up. Fortunately, wifi password was wrote at front desk, so we can used it. With the wifi, got message on Booking.com saying the key is at the door Air conditioning not working. We had to slept at 30 degrees the first night. We didn’t slept at all Pool wasn’t inviting… look like a bird bath… water was not clean. The sheet were stained. No daily cleaning in the room Finally see someone at our 3rd day there. The garden needs a lot of love. Nothing is maintained Around here Overpriced for what we got, even if it’s the Easter weekend. Hostels are way better
Close to the beach. Nothing more.

United StatesIt needs maintenance. Windows and tile in the bathroom are in need of repair. The beds are thin as well as the sheets. The pool was not to clean.
Privacy was good, the maid only came to the room once in 4 nights stay. She exchanged towels at that moment.

United StatesThe hotel is awful, the owner doesn't take care of the property, weeds, dirt, and bad paint everywhere (around the property) This hotel should not be operating. The rooms are old and neglected. The pillows flat and smelled bad. The mattress is so old that we could touch the springs, the sheets are so old; you could touch and see the fuzz, very low thread count, they were torn apart, they had bleach marks (the sheets were purple). We had a terrible night! The fact that a hotel owner sell you a room like this I found it Very disrespectful! 100$ for a room in this deprorable condition is a crime. We had no choice but to stay there, no rooms available in the area. No TV, no basic toiletries, I'm surprised they put toilet paper in the bathroom...
