There were quite a few cockroaches, and we even found a scorpion on our clothes in one of the bedrooms: it was hard to sleep that night as the kids were a little scared. I guess it comes with the territory, but it would be great if the apartment was treated with more repellent for uninvited "guests"

Able to accommodate a lot of people. Large kitchen, spacious living room. The place was very clean, and really nice. The owner owns the pizza restaurant next door, and was very accommodating in making us dinner two nights in a row; the pizza was really good (I'm Italian, I know!).

Nature house is a charming home above the main town of Monteverde. It's super close to a massage center and 100% adventures, both of which we'd also recommend. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The pizza restaurant is attached to the home, and means the house smells absolutely delicious all the time! Highly recommend this lovely place!

Just so you know: Not many parking places, but that is very understandable considering the location. Parking by the road is fine. The road is very bumpy especially going steeply downhill, but nothing our rental couldn't handle. The shower needs some getting used to, just ask the host for instructions. We would have liked more seating areas outdoors, the garden is so pretty to just sit and watch.

The cabin was a great size, beautiful windows. Close to the nature, peaceful. The host was really nice and helpful and speaks excellent English. Best pizzas! Also good breakfast options, tried them all and loved all the fruits. Plus points for the curious coati and humming birds. There were not too many bugs inside, so no problems with that.

There is not a view at this location. It is a great location in a quiet neighborhood, but it should be known that you should not expect a view. We did see Toucans in the trees and a tarantella across the street.

Breakfast was phenomenal. Also, very close to attractions in the area, but in a less crowded part of town. It worked terrific for our family of seven. We also had pizza, which was the best pizza we had while in the country.

The breakfasts cooked by Roy were some of our family and friends' favorites on our two week trip to Costa Rica. We also enjoyed being next to Roy's pizzaria, which was excellent and very convenient for our family.

Even though there is a bathroom door you don’t really have any privacy. We found some dead insects in the house during our stay.

The little house was very cozy and bigger than we thought. Bed was very comfy. We had breakfast every morning which was very delicious. You can also have pizza there at night, which was very good.

You have enough space for 1 or 2 people only. The road to reach the cabin needs a 4 by 4 if going uphill where there is a 300m stretch. We got stuck as we had a sedan. However, we went around on the main road and went downhill about a 100m to reach the property.

Staff was very friendly. It was amazing to wake up to view of the forest from the glass wall. Good hot breakfast prepared fresh by Roy and served in a 5 star fashion. A lot of flora and fauna around with good nature vibe. The ceiling of the bathroom and living area is glass along with one of the walls of the cabin, making you connected with nature. Wifi was pretty good as well. Very artistic cabin and very tastefully built. Room is not air conditioned, but had a fan and a space heater as well.

This property blew us away with its creative use of materials. It was sustainable, comfortable and so romantic. It was very close to everything we had scheduled in Monteverde. Roy made a fantastic pizza & breakfast and had the best wine.

What a lovely, interesting little Casita! Beautiful light, comfortable bed, absolutely marvelous host, and a stunning cook as well! Just be prepared that you will access the house via a steep gravel road just slightly outside of the main part of Santa Elena. It's good to have an SUV with good ground clearance in Monteverde and this is no different.

The parking is a bit tight / limited, but that is to be expected given the terrain. We always had room to park, so that was much appreciated!

Nature House had both the cutest accommodations and delicious food. The host was extremely accommodating, and I felt like we were getting an authentic experience of Monteverde. Highly recommend to anyone staying in the area.

Cabin looks cozy but during the wet season, humidity will do the job and you will quickly realised that the cabin requires some upgrades. After the first night it was quite complicated to ignore the smell and using the air blowing machine won’t help much. There is only one window that can be open and I recommend not to do it during the evening if you don’t want to fight with the mosquitoes. Good place for 1/2 nights max.

Host is absolutely amazing and you’ll be able to enjoy delicious breakfast and probably the best pizza in Costa Rica Roy is absolutely lovely and will take a good care of you during your stay.

The restaurant was a little noisy right next to us with a shared wall and in order to get good airflow, you needed to open the windows but there were no screens. So we ended up with a TON of bugs in the house which made it hard to sleep and any noise outside was right in your ear. The front bedroom also needs some better curtains. The current ones are a little sheer and with restaurant goers being able to look in at you l, it was a little awkward.

Roy was a great host. We saw monkies and a coati on property, ans he even took the time to show us a tarantula living across the street. His pizzas were great and we definitely took advantage of having good food available right out the front door. His wife and little girl were also on site. It was fun to see how this Costa Rican family lived and worked together. 💕

The cabin has 3 rooms and 6 beds which makes it ideal for a large family. There is 1 shower which was ok for us since we are 3. Roy is always around and willing to help!

The decor in the house is a wee bit dark and showing its age. Brighter lights in the living area and a more powerful heater in the shower would be good.

The townhouse is a good size overall, and comfortable enough with three smallish bedrooms. The bathroom is adequate, though you have to keep the water flow low to get a hot shower. There is a small kitchen area with a fridge and microwave. There is a clothes line outside the back door. There is a widescreen TV in the living area with Netflix and the wifi signal is good. The proprietor, Roy and his wife Merlyn, are really friendly and very helpful. Roy will do anything for you from calling taxis to arranging tours. He drove us to the hummingbird gallery in his own car on our first day in Monteverde and arranged a taxi to pick us up. The property is around a 15 minute walk from the nearest restaurants, but Roy makes fantastic pizzas in his self-built wood fired oven next door to the house
