Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwitzerlandWe did have ants and bugs in the room, very natural in the rainforest. And yes, room are a bit dark, but very isolated from humidity and heat.
We really enjoyed this B&B, the owners are very sweet and welcomed us very nicely. The rooms were calm and the wooden environment very warm and charming. There was a fridge, a safe locker, nice shower with hot water, shampoo and AC. We really rested well, it is 5 mins away from the Cocles beach, a very surf beach though. Stores and restaurants are couple of minutes away, very convenient. The breakfast was great! Thank you! :-)

United States of AmericaI honestly can't think of anything I didn't like
The hotel was set off the main road so you didn't get road noise. You could walk to beaches, shopping, and food. If you didn't want to get into your car you wouldn't have to. It was so comfortable, breakfast was good and I would definitely come back to stay.

CanadaWe were traveling in March and the only thing I could say negatively , which has nothing to do with Physis is be very careful where you swim at the beach! The Atlantic ocean here has some very strong rip currents , be alert to the red flags!
Physis B & B was a beautiful boutique hotel located close to all amenities. An easy walk to supermarket, restaurants and the beach.. Breakfasts were delicious with fresh fruit and wonderful coffee every morning. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this location to family and friends.

SwitzerlandWe stayed for 3 nights and there was no automatic cleaning of the room. We assumed this would be done after 2 nights, but we should have asked to be sure.
Great breakfast and very personal service. We enjoyed seeing birds and frogs while eating our BF. The host Juliet is very accommodating and has a list of suggestions for dining and activities.

Costa RicaI would have like to see more traditional breakfast offerings also (ie. rice, beans, plantain). Otherwise the breakfast was quite good.
The breakfast was good: eggs, fresh fruit, coffee, tea toast and other offerings. The location is quiet and fairly close to many things that would interest folks on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica. The hosts are attentive and helpful.

United States of AmericaWe LOVED everything about staying at Physis Caribean B&B. My boyfriend and I fondly refer to it as "Juliet's Place". Juliet is the owner along with her husband. Staying here was more like going to visit a dear friend who is an excellent host. The place is beautiful with lovely wood details and greenery throughout. Both outdoor seating areas are so relaxing and there is a outdoor shower for when you return from the beach. The room we stayed has all the amenities you'd want from a hotel, but it has a cozy feel that you can only get from staying at a small, boutique B&B. The breakfast that is prepared fresh each day was amazing and Juliet serves it to you herself with a smile and questions about how your trip is going. She has great advice and was quick to answer any questions we had or help us with our needs while staying at her place. We felt so lucky we were able to make a reservation for here on the fly for two days. Our only regret is that we didn't get to stay longer. When we come back to the Puerto Viejo area we will definitely book in advance to stay here again. Book your reservation now as Physis Caribean B&B is in high demand with return guests! It is very easy to access the beach and there are two large grocery stores and restaurants within walking distance. Wifi and hot water were exceptional.

Breakfast was quite good with several options that are booked the day before. Juliet was very nice and helpful with tips of what to visit and where to eat. They were all spot on. The B&B is located close to the beach.

United States of AmericaI didn't get to stay longer and I prefer no TV in the room. I do have 2 suggestions - Add bottled soap. I dropped the little soap bars a lot. Also, I may have missed it, but maybe add some small towels at the shower to rinse off the sand? I felt bad tracking water over the nice tile that Christina did such a great job cleaning.
Juliette, our gracious hostess, and Christina(Gratis Bella😊)made us feel at home. They are beautiful people. The BnB is very comfortable, tropical, and peaceful. The breakfast every morning is delicious and filling with great choices. Juliette provided priceless insights about the best places to visit in Cocles and Costa Rica and how to get to them. This was my 2nd trip to Costa Rica. I enjoyed my stay at Physis, I definitely recommend checking it out. I'll stay at Physis again. Pura Vida

GermanyIn 2 of 5 nights some wild animals played on top of our roof, which was quiet noisy. But with earplugs it was no problem.
Very nice and friendly host with lots of hints for the different activities around the location. 4 different breakfast options, which are all delicious and freshly served whenever you would like to have it. Perfect, fast and reliable communication all day long via whatsapp. Cleaning only when you decide it is needed. Overall a quiet, relaxing spot near the Caribbean Ocean. Warm water in the shower :-)

FinlandWe absolutely loved everything, the only downside I can think of was the shower, we had very poor waterpressure in our room.
Spent a week here, Juliet and Matthew were great hosts, we had such a warm and welcome feeling. Breakfast was yummy, great options to choose from. One thing I missed was a local breakfast-option with gallo pinto but the existing options were very good. Location was perfect if you’re after a quieter spot but still close to town. Used a public bus and tuktuks to get around and these were convenient. Playa Cocles, 400-500meters from the B&B is easy to reach though it is not well suited for swimming, waves can be quite rough but other lovely beaches close by.
