Clean, spacious, modern. Room exactly like the pictures. Very clean (even though I saw one cockroach in mine but that’s not bad considering the local ecosystem). Beautiful and well maintained property as a whole. Lots of places to sit, lounge, and relax. Great internet connection - the best I’ve experienced. Pool area was perfect. Right amount of deck chairs with shade and the pool was lovely, and a nice depth. There’s a longer shallower bit too. But if you’re more of a sea person it was literally a 2 min walk behind the property. Amazing beach, again with plenty of areas to lounge on chairs, and a lovely Beach restaurant. Breakfast was immense. So much selection of various foods and drinks catering to various kinds of styles. Exactly what you would want. All staff were impeccably courteous. Truly the best I’ve encountered. Very helpful, patient, friendly and polite. From reception to waiters to cleaners to the security. And it came across genuine not just because it was their job. Perfectly located. About a 20min drive from the airport for €15-20. Short 10-15 min walk to Santa Maria - very convenient. If not, taxis regularly available. €3 back and forth to Santa Maria during the day. After 6pm €4 to go to Santa Maria, €5 to come back to the Hilton. I would visit again at this time of year. In a peak month the experience might not be the same as it was just the right amount of people and it was quite busy as it was. But a truly a fab experience overall. Thank you.

Portugal-The rooms require better cleaning and maintenance. In their current state, and given what they offer, they do not reflect the hotel’s rating (e.g. stains on the pillows, a dirty sofa, and coffee-making facilities in the room not properly cleaned). -Breakfast is chaotic, with the dining area poorly cooled as it is open to the outside (flies and birds everywhere, including on the food left exposed for consumption). -There are not enough sun loungers for all guests, and the hotel staff do not regulate the “reservation” of loungers at the pool (and on the beach) with towels. Most loungers are occupied with towels but remain unattended for much of the day. -We had all our meals within the hotel facilities (most of them at the beachside restaurant, Bounty) and ended up suffering from food poisoning.

PortugalThe only downside — and the reason for the missing fifth star — was the poor Wi-Fi connection near the pool area. While it worked well indoors and in the room, the signal near the pool was weak and often unusable. Not a major issue for everyone, but worth noting for those who like to stay connected while lounging outside.
We recently stayed at this hotel and were genuinely impressed by the exceptional staff — warm, professional, and always ready to go the extra mile to make us feel welcome. From check-in to the daily interactions with the housekeeping and reception teams, their dedication and friendliness made a real difference in our stay. The cleanliness throughout the hotel was impeccable. Rooms were spotless, common areas well maintained, and even the smallest details were clearly taken care of. It’s clear that hygiene and guest comfort are high priorities here.

Unfortunately, the manager at the nautical center had a rude and snobbish attitude, making us feel like we were bothering him. As a result, we ended up not doing any of the activities.

The breakfast was very nice with plenty of options. The staff was super friendly and great, overall the vibe was very relaxed. I must add that I think they really made effort to process the feedback because all the things we read previously about the beds at the pool and headboard of the bad that would be dated and old towels, we did NOT see. Everything seemed very updated actually! Would highly recommend also because of the relaxed vibe overall.

Portugal1) Untruthful information about the room you paid for. The hotel staff told me "it's Booking's fault because Booking want to sell the room" 2) Poor choice of food and quality. I got food-poised after eating in the main restaurant. The manager told me they would send me a survey regarding this matter because they treat it seriously. Of course, they didn't send me anything. 3) Poor cleaning - the floors weren't cleaned properly, they were sticky and covered in dust & bugs. 4) Staff is mostly not helpful - no one knows how to help you. They always ask you to wait and call a manager if he is onsite. If he's not you always need to wait and remind them about your problems. 5) Smell from the restaurants if you live in the nearby rooms - I guess they have gigantic problems with ventilation. 6) They ignore messages, calls and lie about sending the refund. The staff confirmed that I will receive the refund for the days I didn't stay but 30 days later they call me and ask for my IBAN to actually send me the refund - it means they lied to me & Booking.com that they sent me money 30 days ago. Disclaimer - even after this call they didn't send me the refund - Booking.com sent it me instead. 7) On Booking.com it says "you will pay at the property" and then you see that you actually need to prepay for the hotel but there is no information on how to do that. After calling the hotel several times and sending them messages/emails, they sent me a link to a 3d party payment system that looked like a phishing website and the total sum was way bigger than I was supposed to pay. I started calling and sending them emails and messages with the question "why should I pay more than it's said on Booking.com" but they just decided to send me a warning message that I have 1 day to pay the total sum otherwise they cancel the booking.

SwitzerlandDon’t expect anyone to answer any emails you send via booking.com. They will send you automated emails but apparently don’t read any replies. Also, we were told in no uncertain terms that having someone verbally confirm on the phone that your airport pickup is arranged means nothing, they don’t recognise anything that isn’t in writing. They similarly conveniently forgot the (verbal only of course) compensation offered of a free transfer to the airport. The friendly but incompetent service is undoubtedly not a Hilton specific problem. However when that incompetence causes me to get food poisoning? Never, ever again.

United KingdomWhile we really enjoyed our stay there were a few minor details that could be improved upon. Although the staff were generally very pleasant and friendly, the Cize bar and beach bar staff were inattentive and occasionally rude. I don’t know why but we only had one cup in our room which we had to share. We paid for a sea view but we felt that this description to be slightly misleading as the view was predominantly a pool with side sea view. While we appreciated the cleanliness of the pool, it was difficult to have an early morning swim before breakfast as the pool did not open until roughly 9.30am. Despite the sign to let guests know that reserving sun loungers at the pool is not allowed, this was common practice and no action taken to prevent this or enforce the rule.
We had an amazing stay at the Hilton Hotel. The facilities were excellent. The pool was a very good size and never felt too busy with plenty of sun loungers. The location was perfect, a short distance from town and right on the beach with free sun loungers for guests. The food at the buffet and pool bar was great quality with a very good selection and was reasonably priced. Entertainment was pleasant with different types of live music that was low key and elegant. There was a great selection at the breakfast buffet with plenty of seating and top notch service. In general the staff were very friendly. The room was spacious and clean with a large comfy bed and nice balcony and view.

Hong KongThe 'little touches' could have been better for a Hilton 5* hotel - for example, in-room amenities not refilled (we had to ask housekeeping every day for in-room coffee refills; the shower gel was at low level when we arrived and it ran out 3 days into stay and was not refilled). I would also expect bath robes, dental kit and wine glasses/ plates/ cutlery as standard in a 5* (none of these were provided). For yoga or group gym classes, it wasn't mentioned anywhere that you have to sign up at spa reception so we missed out on a few of these classes that we would have liked to join. Even though the spa was running a 20% off promotion, it was still super expensive for the quality received. Treatments were good but not extraordinary. Felt more like a 4* than 5*. These things aren't a big deal, it's just the little attention to details that make a difference between a good hotel and a great hotel.
