Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI have to mention the millipedes as there were a few in the house - I realise they are harmless and I suspect this was due to seasonal changes, or exceptional weather, as haven't noted it mentioned by any other guests. I've ummed and ahhed about mentioning it at all but it wouldn't be an honest review if I left that point out entirely. Maybe sprinkling a little Diatomaceous Earth (DE) would help to eliminate the problem as I use it to keep wood lice out of my home and it works wonders.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Aliki's House - upon arriving Eleni had not only prepared some sweet treats & a coffee but took me through the history of the renovation and her aunt's association with the property. A really beguiling introduction which was further demonstrated by a traditional house tastefully decorated with items of Cypriot origin, including antiques. I have a history with Cyprus as my sister use to live in Nicosia; as such, I have stayed in many types of accommodation, from basic holiday apartments, to 3 star hotels & villas and truly this experience felt the most authentic of them all. Eleni popped back twice with more delicious treats during my visit and really came across as a host who is genuinely interested in making your stay as welcoming and comfortable as possible. The personal touches just elevated the stay to something truly memorable. I cannot fault the beautifully tended garden and various tiered patio areas of both houses and the view right over to the Troodos Mountains was magnificent. Hearing the calls of scops owls every night was very magical indeed for someone who loves owls. And, as a whole the property was very quiet. I would overall recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in an authentic Cypriot house in a charming hillside village.

GermanyOnly that we couldn't stay longer!
Eleni and her family are the perfect hosts who have created a little oasis with Aliki's House. From the moment we arrived and found treats waiting for us in the kitchen, we felt at home. The house was very clean, very quiet, and it had everything we needed. The view from the terraces was amazing and the location was very convenient. We would definitely visit again!

United KingdomThere is nothing to dislike about Aliki’s House 1+2 it is absolutely beautiful.
Aliki’s house is a beautifully renovated traditional Greek Cypriot village house situated above Latchi in the hillside village of Neo Chorio. Meticulously decorated and maintained with gorgeous swimming pool, outside space and garden where you can laze away the days in the glorious Cypriot sunshine. The owner Eleni welcomed us with information and things to do in the local area and was always easy to contact if needed. Over our two week stay Eleni gave us cakes, treats and ice cream making us feel like part of her family. Thank you Eleni, Andros, Nasia and Nathas for allowing us stay in Eliki’s house which we know means so much to you and now my family too.

SpainAliki’s House is absolutely perfect! In a beautiful location with stunning views, it is an ideal place to relax and explore the surrounding area. The house has a fascinating history and has been lovingly and tastefully restored by Eleni and her family. It is also very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The pool area and terraces are breathtaking, perfect for enjoying the views while having breakfast or dinner. Eleni is the best host imaginable! She gave us an insight into Cypriot culture and thoroughly spoiled us with all kinds of delicious treats during our stay. Thank you so much for your kindness, Eleni! We certainly hope to return to Aliki’s House in the future.

United KingdomThere is nothing we disliked
My husband, father & I stayed here for a week in June & we could not have loved Aliki's house anymore then we did! A beautiful tribute to loved family members no longer with us & an insight into Cypriot life, preserving traditions & memories in the most beautiful way. The House itself was spacious, clean, comfortable, with all provisions considered plus additional treats & gifts from Eleni & her family. Eleni is non intrusive but equally on hand should you wish to learn more about the house, Cyprus, the area and general information on restaurants, supermarkets, boat trips etc. The views are beyond spectacular, what a luxury to awake for sunrise & watch from Aliki's house. I cannot recommend this place enough, we absolutely fell in love with it and would return again and again given the opportunity.

PolandOnly one little thing was a bit problematic - the front door were so close the floor, somethimes it was hard to open them fully.
Beautiful, fully equiped apartment and the view from the terrace was amazing! Even despite we visited Cyprus in February (cold mornings and evenings) it was easy to make the apartment warm and cosy.

Everything, a great location, a wonderful host. Really couldn't ask for more. This is a lovely quiet location, I would say to take full advantage a car is best. Eleni is a lovely host and cannot do enough to make your stay a pleasure, from bringing fresh fruit, and homemade cakes and being available by phone. The village is a step back into the past of Cyprus. A place to relax and chill out. Having lived in Cyprus in the 80's and coming back for the last 30 years we always find something new to see, however, this has been the best place ever, we will be back.

United KingdomNothing really. Because of the time of year there were a lot of tiny flies coming off the Akamas, but that's not Eleni's fault. Similarly, only one tavern was open in the village, but fortunately it was the one that is 200 metres away, and it's a good one too.
A great location 5 minutes by car (or maybe less) from Latchi, 10 minutes from Polis. There are off road reserved parking spaces for one car from each house. The house itself was beautifully furnished and incredibly spacious (we had Aliki 1) and the pool simply magnificent, with plenty of space for sunbathing, superb views over the hills and a glimpse of the coast too. There are balconies, terraces and other nooks and crannies all over the place! Neo Chorio is a beautiful village, with a small shop that has all the essentials, a lovely little coffee shop/cafe (Cyprus coffee with a sneaky local brandy, amazing) and one two or possibly three tavernas. In late May, only one was open, but it is less than a minute's stagger from Aliki's house. The others might be open in full season, or maybe have closed altogether, I don't know. The one that was open, Smyies, is family run, popular with the locals and very good value. Order starters and you'll get much more than you bargained for, and if the owner is in a good mood you'll get free Grappa-like shots at the end. For more restaurants you need a car, and the two main locations are Latchi and Polis. Polis is a bit further but offers more choice and in my opinion better quality for the same money. One or two restaurants offer fresh fish from the display cabinet but unfortunately (presumably because of over fishing) it is very expensive. If you are prepared to say screw the cost, you won't be disappointed though. Contrary to what others have written I don't recommend the mezzes. The food arrives in seconds so is obviously already cooked, and each course tends to arrive before you've hardly started the previous one. Mezzes don't seem to offer the lengthy experience you might hope for and are very quickly over, unless you like your food cold. However, apart from the mezzes, everything else is delicious and superb value.

PolandIt was such a pleasure to be the guests in Aliki's House. The hospitality of landowner was above our expectations. The souvenir we have get was a realy nice suprise and it means that Ms. Eleni really cares about people who are visiting her house. The localization is great. The house is placed in a small villige made by sandstone on the little hill with beautifull views from the mansion. There is many nice paths nearby to walk around through holiday time. The pool, kitchen, bedroom and livingroom are made in traditional cyprus style but the house is equipped really good (clima, tv, internet, and kitchen stuff). We've rest a lot there and if we will go back to Cyprus in the future, we would visit this house again for sure. Dominic and Edith

United KingdomGorgeous location in a very old town with stunning views over rolling hills. The traditional decor inside had pieces that were worthy of a museum and made the experience all the more interesting with a heartwarming story of the host and history of the property and little touches that went above and beyond that were definitely appreciated. The local Tavern is only a 2 min walk away and served delicious food, what more could you want?! Really lovely experience all round. Thank you Eleni and family for making us feel most welcome :)
