We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaFacilities were not great, two toilets for the entire hostel. It did seem to be a work in progress so hopefully this is improved upon. Entry wasn't particularly secure, a single shared key for each level was kept in a lock box with a code at the door, relying on every person going in to leave that key in place, and to scramble the code after use. Dorms did not have locks at all so it was only that front door providing security. There was also an older gentleman wandering around in various states of undress and washing his clothes in the kitchen sink on my last day which was very odd and quite uncomfortable. Worth noting the hostel is also quite far away from most things. 'Old Town' and main bus station are within a 10-15min walk, but the coastline and archaeological sites are a lot further, definitely worth learning the bus system (daily tickets are good value).
Staff were friendly (family run I think), nice general vibe at the hostel. The back courtyard is gorgeous, lots of space to socialise and meet people. My dorm room even had a balcony with a sea view (very distant, but still lovely, especially at sunset). Bed was comfy and seemed newly built, locker was plenty big enough for a backpack. Kitchen was in a bit of disrepair but functional enough to cook some pasta.

SlovakiaThe fridge was filled up with a lot of left over food that people left behind and no one cleaned it up, although it wasn’t rotten or anything, just hard to find space to put your own stuff.
The host was very kind and helpful and the space of the garden is great for relaxing throughout the day. The rooms were nice and tidy - linen and AC provided.

ItalyThe pillows were really too thin. Because of the garden the room was full of mosquitoes, bring a repellenbt to have a good sleep. Toilets need to be cleaned more often, to all the guests are respectful of others unfortunately...
Nice room with air conditioning, comfy bed, pretty clean. Beautiful garden to relax. Friendly staff, close to old town center and Karavella Station.

United KingdomIt would be handy to have a power socket or an extension for the top beds, my cable wasn't long enough, but there are plenty of sockets in the rooms and common areas.
The hostel is very nice, with a beautiful garden and a lot of common areas. There are two kitchens and four bathrooms and they seem to be enough for the people staying. Staff is super friendly and they are always available either on the phone or in person. Location is very good if you want to stay in the old town and convenient for the bus station as well. You can walk to the beach if you don't mind a 20/30min walk, otherwise there are buses.

Loved it and would stay again. Less than 20 min walk to main bus terminal and harbour/tourist area. Surrounded by many restaurants. Amazing views from the balcony. Clean, spacious, aesthetically pleasing, and the staff was easy to communicate with! Excellent service, location, and stay overall. I would stay again.

FranceThe property was self check in so I never interacted with any staff. It wasn’t a great place for solo travelers to meet others. It’s located up a hill about a 30 minute walk from the sea. There’s only 1 male and 1 female bathroom. The air conditioning is set to 26°C and only on during specific hours.
The hostel has an amazing garden terrace where you can chill. It’s not far from the main bus station and the new town.

EgyptThe hostel is located on top of a hill and you have to climb with your bags if you are coming on foot. Also, the hostel is not air-conditioned, only inside the rooms and it is open only at certain times, not all the time.

BelgiumIt can get a bit noisy when people insist on using the shared bathroom & shower in the middle of the night, talking loudly, but being a hostel, that is to be expected, that s more to do with the lodgers than the hostel.
The room was very cosy & clean, with nice shutters & blinds to keep the light out. The garden is perfect & well kept. The manager keeps a close eye and fixes any problems that occur immediately.

ArgentinaOn the upper floor, where we stayed, there were only two full bathrooms for all the rooms, which felt insufficient. During our stay, the bathrooms were never vacant -we always had to wait for one to become available. The terrace with tables and chairs is beautiful, but since it is directly adjacent to three rooms, it can become a noise issue late at night. We experienced guests chatting there for hours and even taking phone calls well past midnight. The same happened in the living-dining area, where conversations and activity could be heard beyond quiet hours. We also overheard loud disputes in the bathroom right across from our room (for example, about how long people were taking), along with a lack of consideration when people slammed doors going in and out. Although there are signs reminding guests of house rules and proper behavior, some people either don’t read them or simply ignore them. A clear example of this is the quiet hours policy, which unfortunately was not respected at all. In our case, this was particularly frustrating because we had to leave the hostel at 6:30 a.m. for our flight, so we needed to get a good night’s sleep. Unfortunately, we slept very little, which made the noise much harder to overlook than it might have been otherwise. We still appreciate the staff’s efforts, and we believe that with a few adjustments, this hostel could offer a much more peaceful and comfortable experience for all guests.
We truly appreciated the friendly service, as well as the room itself -spacious, air-conditioned, and in good condition. Before our arrival, we received clear directions on where to park our car in a public parking lot just a few meters from the entrance, which was very convenient. We also valued the well-equipped kitchen, which had everything needed for preparing simple meals.

GermanyThe hostel is a 2-stories house very well-taken care of that mixes normal furniture with with renovated, classic one. Each floor has its own kitchen, living room and female/male bathroom. The garden is really big and spacious. The staff working at Hostl, from the manager to the cleaning lady, are super nice and attentive, really eager to help and super sweet to talk to. The location is in the Old Town, next to the popular Muse restaurant with great views of Paphos. It's a quite area but in 5min walking distance your are at the heart of the Old Town. Not only I recommend it but I would totally go back again! Thanks a lot for everything :)

United StatesSECOND ALERT: Within minutes of posting my review, the owner wrote me on Whatsapp (he had no permission to do so) & told me I was negatively affecting his business & needed to change my review . I told him that was not acceptable business policy & asked him to stop harassing me. Then he told me that "he could see why I left a 3 star now that he'd chatted with me," inferring I was a jerk. Facts. End of the story. BUT I felt bad, so I changed my review so his business wouldn't suffer. I was imagining this poor family man, struggling to survive... I heard children screaming crying at 5 a.m. above my head (which I kindly didn't mention in the review) & was concerned for those kids. But since he's so quick to complain about me changing my review to a 7 from a 3, maybe I should change it BACK... And I will, sir, if you don't let this be. You're making your business look extremely unprofessional. You are embarassing yourself. No professional acts this way. It is not okay EVER to contact a guest on Whatsapp re a review. Ever. Stop it. Don't ever do that again. ALERT: if you leave negative feedback for this property, they will message you instantly via WhatsApp and threaten you and disparage you. And ask that you change the review. You can’t trust the reviews on this property. My original review and the reason for the two star because I didn’t sleep at all.Two women in the room banded together and refused to turn on the air conditioner at night, going so far as to hide the remote control. The other 3 of us laid awake on top of the covers sweating all night. Air conditioning should not be advertised if some guests can refuse to allow other guests access. Cyprus is EXTREMELY hot in July. It was far too hot to force all of us to lay awake sweating all night because you're from a nordic country and don't believe in air conditioning (and think it makes you sick). So..be prepared to fight for your right not to fry.
A dleightful garden, tidy facilities, and great energy. The Wifi was also fast and reliable. The locaton was great, close to many nice restaurants.
