Upon arrival and during the check in process, two additional members of staff (one younger guy with blonde hair, one on the brink of menopause lady) came out to the reception desk and "glanced" at our passports. A comment was made by the older lady (who had dark hair and glasses) about our passports saying that we had to be naturalised citizens of the UK for it to be possible to have British passports...when we in fact were born in the UK. This level of rudeness, ignorance and unprofessionalism annoyed me big time and family members couldn't believe this had happened! While the hotel was generally nice, I didn't feel 100% comfortable staying at the Amarilis because such a comment was only made because of the colour of our skin. So, my advice, if you're black or brown skinned is to find another place to stay. Also, the quilts provided for the beds were thin and it got cold, the heating/air con system didn't work properly and the shower/bath needs something better than a swinging piece of plastic installed to stop the floor from getting soaked.

The room was a good size, and the location was fantastic! So close to tram and metro. It was surprising how quiet our room was despite the location of the hotel. We had paid for gluten free breakfasts at check in (and had proof of this request being made via. correspondence on booking.com) and even though this didn't seem to have been noted by the people who checked us in to make things easier for our first morning - the breakfast staff were helpful and ardent in getting the issue resolved and the gluten free items what were provided were of excellent quality and taste! Well worth the additional cost! Breakfast was varied and accommodating for different types of visitors. There were other facilities available in the hotel (that we didn't use) but it’s cool that they were there.

The bathroom has bathtub instead of shower showerplate. The level of bathtub is higher than the floor and It was difficult to go in and out from the bathtub. You have to raise a lot your leg and people, who are not very tall, have difficulty.

I tried to book a taxi at the reception to where I was going. it would be helpful if the staff would have a rough idea how much it could cost. I understood that the staff was working for hotel but not taxi but the way the staff told me was a bit wired. I booked a taxi with Bolt by myself.

Neighbourrs wew noisy inbthe room above after 10 PM. Some dig barking in the evening. Tv remote missing /or no instructions on hiw to switch on TV.. Some spots on the carpet. Poir quality pillows.

Breakfast was not good ,the first day did not eat anything ,carpets in room were stained ,apart from one I met ,cleaning staff were miserable .only mirror in room was in the bathroom,phone did not work wasn’t connected to anything .would rate this hotel more of 3 star .

The location of the hotel suited us as it was a one-night stay passing through Prague. The area lacks the atmosphere and charm of the Old Town, but is close to Wenceslas Square. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The shower was in the bath tub, which had very high sides, so caution is needed getting in and out (it would not be suitable for those with mobility issues). The breakfast buffet had a good range.

Pillows are very uncomfortable someone used them millions times already this should to be definitely priority for management to change all of them immediately. Weird ventilation system and no slippers in the room. Flooring also not looking good so not having slippers wasn't pleasant.

They got the TV of their own brand, not a smart one. It was not possible to watch anything other than satellite channels, so could not connect our Netflix or Disney subscriptions.

This is my third time staying at this hotel. It is located fantastically in order to get to all the sights but still, it has a quiet location. Walking distance to all the sights. The staff is very helpful and very friendly... The breakfast gives you a lot of choices. All in All, it was an excellent choice of hotel for my group.
