Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaFurniture was elegant and fabulous but not comfortable, furniture from that period wasn’t built for comfort. Would be great if they could add tea/coffee facilities in the room
The presidential suite had excellent views of the astronomical clock and square. The steam shower was amazing.

It was a separate apartment from the hotel. It was very old but had a wonderful atmosphere. It had all the amenities needed and was very central.

United KingdomOur room was up 67 stairs with no lift. We are in our 60s but very very fit so we were fine. This was probably because we requested a twin room. There was a very willing concierge happy to carry bags up for us.
The location is outstanding. We had delicious breakfast, each morning , seated in a first floor restaurant overlooking the Astronomical Clock in Old Town Square.

IndonesiaBecause of the location the area is over crowded with tourists and till late at night it is still loud also with the sound of the clock on the hour. The location is in a pedestrian only area. This should have been highlighted in the description. To get to the hotel you have drag your luggage for 250 meters across cobbled sidewalks! Also when we checked in we were given a room in the annex building, not in the main hotel. It doesn’t have a lift and to be honest the rooms were quite spooky. We had to complain to be moved to the main hotel building! The room doesn’t have an electric kettle!
It is located directly opposite of the astronomical clock in the center of the old town.

United KingdomWe only had a couple of reservations about the comfort of the room. One was that as we were on a higher floor, my husband found the air conditioning a little noisy. The bed was very comfortable, but the mattress was inset into a large wooden base, about 12cm around, which made getting out of it rather difficult. (Possible because we are older). We would have liked the benefit of tea making facilities.
The location was perfect right across from the clock, and provided easy access to all the places to visit. It is about a 20 minute easy walk from the mainline station. Although an older hotel it is very well maintained. The bedroom was in the older style with wooden furniture and floors, but the bathroom was very modern. Plenty of cupboard and wardrobe space, plus a safe and a fridge in the room. The breakfast was served in a lovely room with a variety of beautiful old clocks. It was a very pleasant experience and the breakfast provided was excellent. The use of the key card to gain access to the lift gave extra security to the hotel. Loads of places to eat nearby.

United StatesBe aware that there are two separate blocks in this hotel. Our room was in the section where we did not have an elevator, it was A LOT of stairs. The furniture was really old.
Excellent location. Simply THE BEST. Good quality breakfast in the cafe with the view on astronomical clock. No need to stand in a crowd to watch the clock, just have a breakfast and enjoy the show!

The room was exceptional. The location is outstanding. The restaurant staff was helpful and the food was good. The receptionist staff was not as helpful as I would expect from a highly rated hotel. No money exchange, no mailing assistance and they came across as somewhat indifferent. The porters were very helpful however. Overall very good to exceptional with the one area.

United KingdomOur room was at the rear of the hotel so overlooked an alleyway, which wasn't really an issue except for the noise at night. We fully expected there to be noise from people, but weren't expecting the volume of noise created by businesses emptying bins, bottles, tables etc until around 2am - we even checked a couple of times that there hadn't been an accident as the noise was so loud. All that said though, we were in a busy town centre so this has to be expected?! The only other minor issue is the plumbing system which is clearly very dated. The toilet would burble while the shower was being used and water would back up into the bath overnight - we actually closed the plug as we weren't sure if this was waste water coming up.
Beautiful hotel in an amazing location. All the staff we spoke to were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is full of very pretty ornaments and details which add to the charm and luxurious feel of the hotel. The bedroom was very clean, with an incredibly comfortable (and huge!) bed and the bathroom had a good supply of products available. Breakfast in Cafe Motzart provided a lovely start to the day. There was a plentiful buffet with a wide range to suit all tastes, and the views of the astronomical clock tower is stunning! The location in the town square is a perfect base for exploring the city either on foot or by the multiple transport options.

United StatesThe breakfast that was included wasn’t great but ok. We’ve had better layouts but was suitable.
The room, president suite, was massive and faced the astronomical clock directly which was awesome. The room was quiet despite large crowds outside that would gather every hour. The restaurant was also great for lunch.
