Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomTop of a very steep hill and on alterative bus route, the bus was not stopping uphill due to road works.
Creamy coffee and fridge in room.

AustraliaAlthough everything that actually matters was very clean such as rooms, linen, toilets and showers, the hallways and especially stairs were a bit grimey, not a big deal in my opinion. Note, there is no elevator and a lot of stairs to get to some of the rooms. The street could be loud at times but seemed more like teens hanging around. There are no noisy bars on this street so for the most part was peaceful and easy to sleep.
Great location, close to public transport, shops, bars and cafes. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms are very clean and well equipped. Overall best rated, lowest cost, closest to city center out of any private rooms I could find. Even rooms with shared bathroom have their own sink and fridge. I liked the place so much I extended my stay and will be sure to come back again next time. This part of town is great, still close enough to everything but lower price tags and better quality service around here.

United StatesClimbing to the hotel from tram or from Main train station is horrible!! ( reminds me of streets of San Francisco! ). BOOKING should mention this in their preview of hotel Homer!

TurkeyIf you're going to change the entrance password, you should let us know while check-in. How can you expect us to check our emails on holiday? We were stuck at the main door until someone came and opened the door for us. Also shared bathrooms are not super clean. If i were to book again i would give extra money and stay somewhere better.
Location.

NamibiaThe noise made by youngsters/boys during the evenings: sharing bathroom/toilet with men. I would recommend floors be divided : female floor, men's floor and mix. It was a challenge for us to carry our heavy luggage up and down the stairs. Elevator or assistance with that will help.
It was clean and the location close to a super market and tram station

LatviaWe stayed there for three nights and about halfway into our stay there was no toilet paper in the toilet at our floor and it was not refilled until our departure. It was also quite unfortunate that there was only one toilet per floor, thus it was often busy. The towels given to us were worn out - one had holes and one had some stains.
I really liked the location and the fact that there was a sink in our room, which saved us from multiple trips to the bathroom sinks. The mini fridge in the room was also very convenient! The check-in / check-out was very easy and understandable!

GeorgiaOur room was on the 4th floor (factually it was 5th floor) and there was not elevator, so it was quite hard to get uptears every day for several times. Bathroom and toilette were shared and sometimes not cleaned well (maybe because of a lot of number of guests). The toilet and bathroom have old, broken faucets. It would be nice if the toilets were fitted with separate faucets for men and women.
Location was really good. near the central station, not far from the old town. The stuff was very pleasant.

UkraineEven though I knew that it is two-grounds bad, it is too noisy and a bit unreliable. Every time I made it up I was concerned a bit about my safety. The mattress on the contrary was really comfortable.
Pretty small room with all the necessary stuff. I didn’t expect to see the fridge there, rather a convenient addition.

FranceThere were noisy people at night (but not the hotel's fault) + construction of the adjacent room every morning waked us up. If only the toilets weren't shared, then it would be awesome.

United KingdomOnly 2 toilets for the floor, which may have been a problem on timing for some.
A basic room, but ideal for what we needed it for. Matched the description and was good value for money. A bit of a walk from the city centre, but we knew that when we booked. It was easy to find and felt safe even for two women late at night. We were on the top floor which was hard on the legs after walking up the hill from the city centre, but could stop for a view of the city (and the football stadium) on the way up! 🤣

United StatesThe people in or around the unit were very loud and the walls were thin. I was woken up three times in the middle of the night by random men banging on my window from the outside. I think this can easily be avoided by getting a room that is not on the ground floor though.
It was super clean, close to the old town, and was in a safe neighborhood.

BrazilThe room we stayed in was very cramped. There was a minibar, but there was no outlet nearby to plug it in. My mattress had some very dark stains that looked like mold and the pillow was very uncomfortable. But the worst problem was that there was no soundproofing whatsoever, conversations in the hallways and even in the room next door were completely audible. Furthermore, since the doors do not have anything to absorb the impact, they make a lot of noise when they are closed, so you can hear every time someone enters or leaves the room, which caused us to wake up several times.
The staff was very attentive and friendly with us. The location is not central, but it is close to a tram stop that meets any transportation needs. Check-in and check-out were simple and the refund of the deposit was quick.
