The location, the view, film festival aura. Just perfect! I came to KV to run a half-marathon and stayed in the Thermal hotel which was literally a centre of this event. This made my stay even more unique and unforgettable.

The name and the listing is misleading because although the hotel is named as "thermal" there are no thermal spa facilities in the hotel. The outdoor thermal spa is closed since 3 years and the indoor (normal tap water pool, not thermal water) was closed for renovation throughout my stay. I was given a complimentary salt cave session due to this closure however it was quite confusing to get registered for this and find the place. There are no facilities using thermal spa in the hotel, you have to pay for other public spas outside.

    Clean, comfortable room.

The staff at the Reception was very unfriendly and the Receptionist was RUDE and unprofessional. (this is a 4 Star hotel...) The Spa was closed but they didn´t informed us before just after check-in. They didn´t give us any Information's where we can find another Spa or Pool. In the Breakfast Room was super cold and the staff was also rude. The lady who organized the Guests in breakfast room yelled at some old couple...it is a NO GO!!!

The hotel is old and needs reconstruction urgently. Swimming pool is in such a bad state so that it is closed. Shame. The Karlovy Vary town is known for film festival. But when there is no film festival, the city is very calm..for some could be boring.

This hotel is icon of brutalism architectural style. Who considers it interresting, should see it. The location in centre close to all important. View on spa promenade. I recommend visit during the Karlovy Vary film festival. During the festival the city lives and it is great to be here.

The lady on reception who booked us in was very unhelpful almost rude. Treatments included in booking were fully booked on arrival and no mention of pre booking was requested. Pool closed due to fire,no alternative until complained to manager. No working aircon in room, rooms were unbearable. Bed had only 1 pillow no spares and bed was like solid concrete to lay on. The hotel itself looked an absolute eyesore compared to those it neighboured, looks more like a block of concrete flats and multi storey car park than a hotel. Avoid and find yourself an alternative is my recommendation.

    The location,parking.

The only reason to stay at this property is to be right in the middle of the film festival. Otherwise it is too poor when compare the price. Room has probably not being renovated since the hotel was built (maybe the bed was, it was comfortable), loudly aircondition over ones head, loud noices both from outside (even if it was 15th floor, back view) and neighbours. Clumsy corridor in the room - no place for open the door to the toilet and get in without moving onself away... No direct entrance to the hotel from garage (takes ca. 250m of walking, stairs incl).

We came to enjoy the film festival, so staying right there was great. View from the corridor on 15th floor was also nice. Breakfast was good as well, even if made mostly of the cheap products.

First of all, I sent an email to you asking for parking space and you asked for car number plate. I sent it to you but when arrived at hotel, they said there is not any parking space. I am very unhappy about this and wish to complaint why you did not arrange for a parking space. I had to pay more than 1000 CZK to park for overnight stay.

It is extremely expensive for what it offers. The furniture of the hotel is from 1980´s. The towels and bathings robes were quite old and full of holes. The swimming pool works in a very limited time frame and after 20:30 it is closed (quite weird for a Spa hotel) About the breakfast: there were many things to choose from, but the quality was low.

    The hotel is well located.

no possibility to take a bath in thermal water here! the hotel is called "thermal" but the thermal pool is not working, for "technical reasons". seems like it´s been out of use for some years already. doesn´t seem like they are planning to renovate it. this part of the area looks like an abandoned place. nevertheless there is a modern spa area but the pool is small, with normal water and there is no daylight, it´s not what I expected for a 4 stars spa area. some hotel staff was very kind but others were unfriendly, really not interested in their guests although they should, expecially since there big attraction ist (the thermal pool) is not working.

The Hotel advertises its new and modern wellness and training area... that's a complete lie. In the so called "gym area" there were exactly three cardio devices for more than a hundred guests. Then the wellness area, there was one swimming pool maybe a length of 10 m, a infrared cabin for max.3 people, a very small finish and steam sauna. It was hilarious. Furthermore it was on the basement. That means there was no way to go outside and take a breath after the sauna. Additonally the area was quiet cold, so it was not really relaxing, whereas the rest of the hotel was way too warm. Besides we were the youngest there (28). Most of the other guests were seniors.

The breakfast was really good I have to admit. I think they got everyone'staste. It was a buffet from 8:00 to 10:00. Karlsbad is a gorgeous city. We hiked a little around and try to make our stay a little adventurous, even though we originally just wanted to do sports and relax in the hotel, which was not possible unfortunately.

very old fashioned, ugly hotel from the socialist state. There was pigeon’s excreta in my balcony for all the 3 days… I got a dirty sauna towel which seemed to be clean at the first sight… I received an approval email that they accepted my late check out request, nevertheless they wanted me to pay 50% more the longer stay. nonsense! The waiter poured out some orange juice in to the floor when we were choosing what to eat for dinner… this orange juice was still on the floor after 15 min… What a fortune there was no accident!

Equipment probably remembers Gustav Husak, the last communist president. The hotel needs urgent reconstruction which I heard is planned to start in summer 2017. During the festival the hotel is noisy.

The best location for the film festival. Breakfast. Hotel has its own parking, which is not case of majority other hotels in Karlovy Vary and the price of parking is lower than any public parking in the city. No Russians during the film festival.

Felt cold-shouldered during check-in. The man appeared very cold and blunt. Staff in the restaurant were generally not enthusiastic too. Such attitude was not professional at all for a 4 star hotel. Such a bad impression actually offsets all other bonus of this hotel, and is something very pity for a hotel with such good facilities. There was a laundry room in which you could wash the clothes yourself at a cheaper price (250 CZK), but the staff said it the washing machine was out of order.

It uses famous brand personal care products in the room, like LUX for 2 in 1 shower gel and shampoo, Dove for liquid soap. Lots of varieties in their buffet breakfast, different food every day. The cold dishes were especially creative. Early and clear reminder of a change in Czech time zone to Central European Winter Time on 25 Oct. There were notices on the lift and in our room.
