I asked at the reception for a hall porter to help with my luggage and they sent to my room some uniformed man (probably a repairman) in dirty clothes with extremely dirty hands.

    I liked only the location.

It's only a pity there ist not a dry sauna for free as well.

This hotel is definetely worth to stay in with great value for money. For the same price you have room equipped in a great historical ,,château´´ style. Breakfast was tasty and wellness, free billiard are nice extra bonuses. I give 10/10 for the location. When I saw the prices in wellness, which were probably cheaper than in Lidl - I immediately ordered a wine (rosé 0,2 dl - 45 CZK :) Evian around 35-40 CZK I think

In the advertisement on booking.com, they advertised a $12 euro dinner, however, they did not honor the dinner price at the hotel. Also, the staff was not very friendly - almost had attitudes. Very impatient.

The location to the Chateau Hluboka was excellent/close to Chateau Hluboka (allows easy fast access to walking around the Chateau's gardens & Chateau). The view from the room was beautiful. Hotel has very good breakfast.

Restaurant food was not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. Sauna needs to be cleaned up and repaired. Open shower by the sauna needed.

The castle theme made the stay very special. Located on the door step of the main park. Very spacious room with view over the town.

The hotel and restaurant need a general overhaul. The hotel is not particular clean the 4-star rating only says something about the room size and nothing else, I cannot explain the 8.9 (at the time of writing) rating on Booking.com. Furniture in the room needs to be replaced; looks great with the style of the hotel, but it is way past used, looks second-hand. In such a hotel they would better have a two person bed instead of two beds for one. Our room was a corner room (307) and there was an escape plan for the 2nd floor (different room), in the windowsill were a bunch of dead flies, which fits the dust that was captured by the lamps and wall outlets in the bathroom. There is NO bathrobe nor are there slippers available; bring your own. In the restaurant staff did their best and the food was good, though table cloths had holes in them and breakfast was just appalling (almost 3 stars). In the morning staff was running through the breakfast area in jogging/leasure wear; I found this unacceptable. The room, according to Booking, came with a meal plan (lunch 8€pP and dinner for 12€pP), which was not possible when we wanted to book this for the evening. The pool is much smaller than you'd expect and looks dirty; for that reason we did not use the pool.

Hluboká Castle is in walking distance, less than a minute and you are in the garden which is great for walking or running. Nice large rooms. Great view if you are on the front side of the hotel.

I am not sure if our rooms are upgrated. The room is huge and beautiful. The Hluboká castle is just behind of the hotel, We took 5 minutes to walk to the castle and again wen to castle during the night. The night view of castle is really wonderful. It's coincident that there was a drama playing in the castle. We watched the drama without any charge.

Breakfast was underwhelming both in variety and quality. After trying the coffee on the first day we sought coffee outside of the hotel.

The property itself is absolutely beautiful. The lounge area provided a cozy place to relax from a long day. The hotel room was a personal oasis. The scenic views make this hotel in must book. The staff were extremely accommodating. Dinner at the hotel was excellent. We stayed at a another highly rated hotel just down the hill and found the Hotel Stekl to be the best overall experience and the best value. Would definitely recommend.

The hotel has an attractive wellness area including a Whirlpool, a sauna an a swimming pool. They offer an exellent massage too. The area around the hotel is idyllic with a romantic castle situated in a widespread forrest, therefore it's relaxing to spend a day at the hotel and it's sourrounding. Hluboka itself is a peaceful village with some small restaurants an cafes. Budweis is reached within 15 minutes by car, Krumlov within 30. Our stay was perfect - we recommend this place to everybody who wants to combine a wellness and city trip.

Wonderful luxury hotel in perfect setting. Wish we had time to stay longer. Loved the pool, bowling and gracious surroundings.
