Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNo kettle facilities in the room couldn’t make a cup of coffee ☕️ when I woke up which I like to do The walls are very thin and 2 ladies in the next room were talking loudly and woke me up 😡
Very friendly staff - they could speak English, apart from the lady at breakfast who didn’t speak a word of English and seemed surprised I couldn’t speak German…. Very sorry. I can speak English French Italian Spanish but I never learned German A German friend of mine was staying same hotel so we share taxi ride to our venue, Freak Show in Essen-Steele, which was very nice

NetherlandsThe room was not completely cleaned when we arrived. They left some socks from previous guests. Toilet brush was dirty. They allow people to smoke just in the front door of the hotel.
Great location, good price. Staff was nice even though many could not speak English. Nice breakfast.

NetherlandsThe room is a bit old and sometimes smells musty.
The location is very close to both the Christmas market and the station, and we can store our luggage after we check out; we could also check in earlier. Toilet is also separate from shower so it's good for two people.

NorwayThe security of the hotel didn’t feel that good. Another part of the hotel is on the other side of the street, and anyone could go up there without anyone really controlling it. Also the key system could have been a bit more modern and safer. On the wall on the side of my bed it was very visible that something wet has been running down the wall. Nasty!
Very central location! Breakfast also very good and it was open until late for us who likes to sleep a bit longer. Personal was nice.

GermanyThe position of a room was towards the main street with lots of cafes and restaurants with late opening hours, which made it extremely loud! Leaving a window even partially open was a no-go. On top of that, the walls are so thin, I could hear the conversations and music coming from the room to the left, and an unbearably loud snoring from the room to the right. Also, you are not issued the receipt when paying, not even a card slip, being ensured you'd receive it at the check out. Of course, then you can only receive the invoice if you request it, but the card slip is nowhere to be found.
The hotel is in a slightly old-fashioned style. It is noticeable that certain parts of the rooms and hotel have been renovated. The room was of a decent size, very clean and the bed quite comfortable. The location has a positive and negative side. Positive: it is located quite centrally, easy to reach various places. Negative: it is very loud at night. The staff was nice. The breakfast has decent choices to choose from. Small and cosy area.

United KingdomLocation, especially on the weekends - noisy, loud, plenty of drunks travelling up and down the street. Even getting the back room you can hear the noise. Please take into equation if you're light sleepr.
Location, very centrally with all it's pros and cons. A basic accommodation spread across two buildings opposite the main street. Mind it if booking two rooms - the other party could be located in other buildings. Altohugh basic, the breakfast is fantastic and quite generous. Scrambled eggs just blew my mind - one of the best in hospitality offer.

BelgiumWeather was very hot and the room quite small, a fan could have been good as there is no airco at all in this property. Window must stay open, but then you hear the noise from street very clearly.
Breakfast was good, fresh ingredients, only coffee too bland. The location very central easy access to transport, restaurants and cafés.

GermanyThe room had quite a strong old smell. And the toilet could use a seat change (it was not dirty, but rather old). Also, either the walls are not too thick or the guy in the next room was snoring way too loud (I'm not counting this too much, but for sure it was not pleasant, just have ear plugs with you). The staff was also nice and understanding in this in this situation (I asked if they had earplugs) even though they couldn't help much. No problems with outside noise. The Wi-Fi was disconnecting or very weak sometimes (more in the night; I could work during the day)
The staff was very nice, the room looked good and the bed was comfortable. There was more than enough space to work with a laptop. The location is great, the hotel is right in the city center. Good breakfast

Bosnia and HerzegovinaDuring the morning hours the street infront of the hotel is very dirty, but that is something the hotel cant improve. Hotel doesnt have their own parking space. You have to park in a private garage (6€/24h) and that is ok, but the garage closes at 20:30. Wi-Fi could be a little better. All in all, I had a very nice stay and would definitly come back.
Location was good. You are very close to city center and A40 highway. Room and the bathroom were exceptionally clean. The staff cleans your room and changes sheets every day. Bed was amazingly comfortable, sheets were fresh and clean. I had a great sleep and rest. After 23:00 you couldnt hear any noise from the streets or other rooms. Breakfast was delicious and with good rations. There are a great number of middle-eastern restourants in the street of the hotel.
