How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The room was excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. Although I wasn't expecting breakfast, there was a coffee and a croissant in the morning to start the day, which was a nice touch.

It was a windy day when I arrived and some leaves and debris had blown into the foyer, which made me think maybe other areas wouldn't be kept clean. This wasn't the case though.
I was greeted warmly on arrival and given the key to my room, details of the free wi-fi were pointed out and information about breakfast provided, which I understood to be a 'grab-and-go' affair. I took the lift up to my floor and easily located it from the signs. The room was well appointed and very clean, with a compact and modern bathroom. I connected to the free wi-fi which was perfectly fine to use to do some work. I found a lovely restaurant for dinner very close by as the hotel is so well situated near to the city centre. I had a peaceful night's sleep and a lovely walk in the morning and thought I would grab a croissant and coffee on the way out, however, there were china cups and plates provided and ample seating in reception, so I had breakfast at the hotel which was a lovely surprise. I was informed on arrival that housekeeping would not be provided daily unless requested and that suited me fine for a two night stay. Check out was very straightforward and all in all I really enjoyed my stay.

The noise. We were on the 7th floor and the noise of motorbikes and cars was quite loud. It did die down around midnight...maybe I'm just getting old.lol
Excellent location to get around Berlin.

Although the mattress was not bad, could be a bit more comfortable for a good sleep.
Great Location close to the Subway station. Good location far from massive tourist areas. The morning Coffee and croissants free of charge was really a nice touch. My standard room was very spacious.

The breakfast . But for that price, who cares. The old model TV.
A fire alarm went off, and they took it seriously. I felt totally safe. Simple check in and check out, excellent water pressure.

There was a fire alarm during my stay. The evacuation was handled okay but communication could have been better when we were waiting outside. I went for a walk in my pyjamas and coat while the fire brigade checked the building - by the time I returned after one hour it had reopened. However, I appreciate this was a very exceptional circumstance and I still enjoyed my stay there and thought it was very good overall for a holiday on a budget.
The room and amenities were very good. Everything was clean and there were ample coffee/ tea sachets provided. The cleaners were very helpful if you needed additional towels. The coffee and croissant in the morning was a really nice touch.

No safe in the room where I could keep my passport and holiday money as securely as I would have liked.

- the Smart TV is too slow and not connected to the internet - I was unable to connect my Chromecast due to the type of internet connection, and the Share Display connection was very bad. - the shower head was leaking, and at some point, the shower head hose was completely disconnected. - no double bed option available.
