The staff were very friendly, the hotel rooms were clean with a modern design, and the car park had electric vehicle charging points.

There was nothing for me to dislike. There is a cafe facility for breakfast which was well used but it didn’t seem to be used for catering in the evening.

It was a good location for my visit to Spiel 2023. A short walk from the railway station. The hotel is welcoming and the staff are very friendly.

Only some of the showers are not great for tall people. Though not the case for every room, so if you're tall aka for a room with suitable shower.

The fantastic service by host David. He made us feel very welcome and was extremely supportive, e.g. handing out his own mobile charger and reserving an electric charging parking spot.

Hotel a little outdated but incredible service, they really want their customer to feel well and care of every details. On evening I'll ask for a beer, at my surprise it was gifted !

Staff of the hotel is very nice and willingly to help. Room was very big and comfortable. Breakfast was decent. Hotel is very close to the city center so perfect for visiting the Christmas markets

Although there was air conditioning, it did not work (or turn on at all), which presented a problem since my room faced onto a noisy street with lots of car traffic. Thankfully I had ear plugs. Overall, this hotel did not quite meet 3 star European standards. In addition to the A/C issue, the furniture in the room was shabby. More importantly, staff on Sunday were unwilling to hold my bags past 5 PM after checkout, since apparently there was no way to communicate the fact that the bags were mine to those on the next shift. Although this is of course a courtesy service, holding bags is expected in tourist hotels. They should really develop a requisition system with tags so this does not happen in the future.

Well located, rooms were large and clean, staff (especially on Saturday) were friendly. I enjoyed the welcome drink. Breakfast was good. Bed comfortable.

The hotel is located right on a quite busy main road, so there is a lot of traffic noise, so if you are staying in a room at the front like we were (room 14 on second floor), then you definitely need earplugs or/and keep the windows closed to be able to sleep.

Located very close to the city center, only a short walk to get there. The hotel has its own parking garage which is convenient and cheaper than public garages. Friendly staff at reception. The room was okay, spacious, and had coffee and tea making facilities. Good buffet breakfast.

The location, of the hotel is close to the train station and at the city center. I like the design of the room, it makes one feels comfortable and cosy. And at the reception are friendly staff.

Maybe plug sockets on both sides of bed but that is all.

Shower was brilliant and very powerful and temperature remained constant. The staff were exremely helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to help and nothing was too much trouble for them. Only a short walk to town. Very clean and comfortable. Loved the Beatles theme and the cushions in the room. Plenty of tables for breakfast. Will definately stay here again next time in Essen.

The title may be a bit harsh but the hotel is very, very basic, with cold stone flooring, uncomfortable beds, and a random supply of amenities (bottle of water in one room but not the other, random number of towels). It’s ok but we had much better for less money.

Location is great, a few steps away from city center and public transportation. Semi-free parking (between 20:00 and 10:00) on the streets around the hotel.
