Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwitzerlandAC did not work, after calling reception it was turned on - but without any possibility of controlling it from the room. Later on when we contacted reception again and we're told that AC had been switched off at 11pm - while looking at ours going full blast - hotel was unable to help until morning, making for a very uncomfortable night with the noise from the AC. At check-in we got no help with luggage or parking.
The hotel location is great - with fantastic view of the bay. The rooms are dated but nice and clean - with comfortable beds.

United KingdomNothing. Everything was lovely. Beds super comfy.
The location is superb. Right on the harbour. Enjoyed people watching from the Corner Cafe. Our room was spacious and we loved the separate dressing room. Breakfast was good and the pool area, a lovely spot for chilling after an active day.

United KingdomThis comfortable, traditional style hotel is in position A on the busy harbour - ideal for people- and boat-watching, not least from the elevated restaurant and Corner Cafe. The food was excellent, and room maintenance exemplary. The hotel, with its boat and rail connections is ideal as a base to explore the Bodensee, Liechtenstein and also the Schubertiade at Hohenems/Schwarzenberg and Bregenzer Festspiele (there is a direct shuttle from the harbour at Lindau to the Seebuhne at Bregenz on opera nights).

United KingdomWe booked a 5 star hotel as we wanted all that was advertised including air conditioning which was advertised on the Hotel website, on booking.com and in the details for the room we booked. When we arrived the room was reasonably small and also south facing and as a result with the warm weather it was very warm. It had the air conditioning controls but when I tried to use it, it would not work, we went down to reception and we were told that it did not work. I thought that this was unacceptable and asked for a fan which although gave some respite it meant that due to the noise of the fan and the warmth of the room we did not sleep well. At around 5 a.m. we decided to open the curtains and the door to the balcony (we were on the 1st floor) to gain some air. But at around 6.50 two men approached over the flat roof and came along our balcony, seemingly to begin some maintenance work (which we were not aware of at that time as no one had warned us), this was a shock and very unsettling as they could clearly see into our room and indeed access our room. On checking out I relayed my concerns and was offered approx 50 euros discount. I was also told that the owner doesn’t have the air conditioning on except on the summer so beware! Upon reflection I feel that for the very poor night sleep that we got we could have stayed in a far less expensive hotel.
The location is superb as are the facilities including the pool. Breakfast was also very nice. The bed was comfortable. The decoration was quite old fashioned as was the paintwork. The bathroom was good quality but old fashioned.

United KingdomWe were not impressed with the breakfast choice and other comparable hotels we have stayed in over the past 10 years have far more choice. Limited juices, no berries, at home we have raspberries, strawberries, blueberries there were none of these, no real muesli ( all contain puffed wheat), no cooked vegetables. Fresh fruit bowl extremely limited mainly apples and the odd pear. At the very least we would expect cooked mushrooms and tomatoes. We have never experienced such a small breakfast selection. Be aware that if you choose a room with a garden view, you won’t necessarily be able to see the garden. Our balcony was a solid concrete wall and unless we were standing the only view was the top of the old lighthouse- so book direct with the hotel to ensure you can choose your room. We tried to change but there was nothing available- so this goes down as the worse balcony we have ever had. Very disappointing. Every morning the cleaners knocked on the door about 8.30- we have never experienced this before. Cleaning staff usually clean later when people are likely to be out. We had to put a do not disturb sign on the door to stop them knocking before we had gone to breakfast. The staff are variable. Some lovely, other’s were disgruntled. One morning we asked for a table to be cleared by the window. The waitress cleared it but didn’t provide us with cutlery, a napkin and cup and saucer. We had to get it for ourselves- not good. Room service was rather strange. Every time I ordered some tea in the morning, I was met with, ‘but you will have to pay’. This became quite irritating. I have yet to meet anyone that thinks room service is free. Needless to say, we won’t be returning.
The best thing about the hotel is the location near to the interesting station, the ferry dock and the habour front. The shared indoor and outdoor pools are good but not warm. There is a notice to say the temperature has been reduced due to rising energy costs- so this is about protecting the hotels profit margin. Can store bikes in the underground garage which was a plus for us. Good cafe downstairs, no longer owned by the hotel but perfectly acceptable if you don’t want to go far for an evening meal.

United Arab EmiratesThe glass shower screens attached to the bath tub were slightly too small for the area and there was some water splashing onto the floor after my shower. I had to use towels to keep the floor dry.
The hotel is very centrally located right opposite the Lindau Insel train station. The Lindau Kunstmuseum is located within walking distance of the hotel as are many restaurants and shops. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my breakfast at the restaurant with a beautiful view of Lake Constance/Bodensee. Although the hotel is located right in the heart of the city, I was able to enjoy a good night's rest. The

United StatesThe coffee served in the morning could have been hot, not luke warm. It's not easy to make sure everything is perfect.
Dieses Hotel ist fantastisch!! Everything about it is just great, from the location across the street from the train station to the well-apportioned room, to the beautiful view of the harbor from it. I decided to splurge, and it was well worth it. I cannot imagine a better place to stay in Lindau am Bodensee. Note: If you're arriving by train, make sure yours goes all the way to Lindua Insel rather than Lindau Reutin. If the latter, you'll have to change trains. It's probably easier than I made it, but there isn't any station at Lindau Reutin, making a little difficult find the right train going the short distance to the Insel. Multiple lines there. Bottom line, refer to the posted yellow sheet that lists all departures and arrivals.
