Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

We stayed in the second floor. There is no elevators. Which wasn’t a problem for us, but something to consider about. Strollers could be “parked” downstairs. Even with the windows closed we could hear everything going on down on the street. On the first view the room looked clean, but under the beds it was extremely dusty.
We travelled with a bigger group. Several families with kids. It was nice to have the open space in front of the hotel for the kids to play and we got a separate room for dinner, which was nice. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

The cleanliness of the bathroom could use improvement.
A charming, old-world ambiance, and incredibly welcoming staff. Prime location. Good breakfast.

When we ordered drinks before dinner, the waiter told us the card machine wasn't working and I had to go to find a ATM. After dinner when it was time to pay, it transpired that the waiter had lied because he thought we were only having drinks and he didn't want to take a card payment for a relatively small amount.

If you are traveling by train, you will need a taxi.
It was in the heart of the old town, on a very quiet market plaza. It was close to other restaurants and sights to see. It had the old world charm I was looking for. Breakfast had all the traditional German selections.

No air conditioning...room was a little bit noisy at night bc restaurant is right below (our room), so ask for a quiet room. They could do a little more
Nice hotel in town...drop your stuff and then park outside the walls in a free lot..10 min. walk max. Family room was lovely - daughter had her own private bath! The pool was really nice and we also used the sauna and shower - didn't like that you had to pay for a towel at front desk for pool...if they are worried about theft, why not just ask for an i.d. or deposit? Great bfast with prosecco, if I remember right.

No lift, which is understandable because the house is old but is a drawback if you have mobility issues.

We had a plain but spacious and comfortable room and enjoyed having access to the small but clean swimming pool. We had one evening meal here which was excellent.

I liked the location of the hotel. It is located right in the center of the historic town, great to walk to everything. The room was very big and clean. The breakfast was great and the staff very nice and helpful.

FRONT desk offered to keep anything we had in their fridge. Later when we ask them to keep a bottle of coke in the fridge the kitchen mgr started berating me and telling me if they do it for all their guests that they would go broke. Very poor way to treat customers using a service the hotel offered!
The hotel was fine. no refrigerated in room

There is an old lady who takes care of breakfast, and I asked if they were going to refill the scrambled eggs and she started yelling at me that I had to scrape the bottom of the bowl, so I ate dry and burnt scrambled eggs. In addition to the fact that there was no hot water in the hotel, we couldn't take a shower.

The shower in the bathroom ( room 209) was not working so that it was not possible to wash us at all. Also the bathroom itself was also in rather poor condition and needs to renovation !
