How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Very basic toiletries.
Small hotel close to city center. We had a problem with our room due to water leaking from the ceiling. They changed our room instantly. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Otherwise, the very nice balcony is shared with the neighboring room, which, in itself, would not be a problem. However, there is no partition on the balcony, so guests from the neighboring room can easily reach a part of the balcony that does not belong to their room, or enter someone else's room if you accidentally leave the balcony door open.
Above all the most the biggest value of the hotel is its location, close to all main attractions, but in a quite zone. Room view to the park with a balcony is plus of course. The bathroom was small but very clean and very well organized.

We booked a family room and our child got an electric shock due to a missing light bulb at bedside lamp....aweful maintanace especially for a family room.

Hair dryer didn’t work
The family apartament was very clean. The apartments is jot renovated since long time. Nevertheless, for a short trip and the money paid definitely worth it.

Check-in was not as good as it could have been . The check-in girl hardly had eye contact with me and did not seem interested. She did not get out of her seat and just pointed directions from where she was seated. Not vey welcoming at all. Even thought the bathroom had just been renovated and very clean, the shower drain was blocked up and kept overflowing onto the floor making it very slippery. I removed the drain cap and a handful of hair that was blocking it, after that it drained fine.
Our room was on the 3rd floor and there wasn't a lift so we had to drag our bags up the winding staircase. The room was of a good size and clean. The bed was large, clean and comfortable. The bathroom had just been renovated and was excellent. Just a short walk around the corner and you are in the main street of the old town area with access to everything you need to do and see. No major issues and we had a pleasant stay.

There is no air conditioning and it was pretty hot for sleeping. But the windows open and there was a fan in the room so that helped a lot. At first there was no hot water. But the staff had it repaired by the time we got back from dinner.
This hotel checked the boxes for my 3 most important items: clean, comfortable bed, and good location. The rooms are dated but not necessarily in a bad way. It’s charming! The beds were comfortable. It was very easy to get around the city from the hotel. It’s right in the middle of the castle and the main market square. The staff allowed us to store our luggage for the day after we checked out.

The shower was a bit small.
The location was perfect, two minute walk to the castle and five minutes to the centre of the city. Easy walk to the underground station. Peaceful place to stay with the added bonus of a balcony. Good choice at breakfast.

Very small rooms, no heating during first night. Is not bad hotel, but not for this price.

Not enough pillows so we struggled to sleep. Hotel was over priced but I noticed this day Nürnberg in general all hotels were over priced.
Car parking very close by and fair price. Staff extremely friendly. Very good location for the sights.

rooms are a bit old with carpet. bathroom is tight but ok for one at the time.
location is the best, right at the city center. in December is really close to the Christmas market. breakfast was ok with several options. bed were new and comfortable

The only downside was the lack of lift for the side of the hotel our room was on but even that wasn't that big of a deal as we were on the first floor.
The room was clean and the bathroom recently updated. The location was ideal, close to the castle and a short walk from old town square. For the price it could not be beat.
