Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BelgiumThe bed, i had to climb into it, but i guess that's normal when you book a room in a old ship, so its not really fair to complain about it :)
Very nice shower, after a week on a cruise most welcoming, very good location, 1m walk to the metro. Very friendly staff and nice breakfast

AustraliaVery small space. Expected the room to be small but this was so small there was really not enough space for 2 people to move around without one having to either sit on a bed or go outside. A bit claustrophobic as you are not able to open the portholes. Great if you like ships in original format. Not everyone's cup of tea.
Location. Friendly staff.

AustraliaYou sacrifice some luxury for nautical charm; the cabin was a little cramped. Climbing in and out of the bunk beds wouldn't be for everybody.
Great location on the harbour between the Elbphilhamonie and the Reeperbahn. Good food. Great breakfast.

United KingdomNot much, but you have to be ready for the fact that it's a converted light ship! I travelled to Hamburg for the Ironman. It was a bit of a squeeze in the cabin with my bike box but we managed fine.
Amazing location, friendly staff and atmosphere, great food and drink, lots of fun staying on the ship.

Location, right in the tourist spots. Elbphilharmonie is just beside the hotel. It's also a new experience for me to stay over the ship.

Germanytiny, cozy ship cabins - if you're a tall guy like me you'll be a little uncomfortable. If you're "american size" you'll probably won't even fit through the door, so take that into account
Great ambience, great staff. Really cute old ship. Old timey maritime vibe

United KingdomI’m quite short so I was fine with the small single bed. If your height is over 170 cm you may not find the bed comfortable.
The location and it was fun experience to stay in a boat hotel. I liked the breakfast (juice, coffee, boiled egg, some fruits, cheese and bread).

United KingdomNot the best night's sleep in the bunk but still glad I stayed. Bit worn in places but mostly just adds to the charm / experience.

United KingdomThe room was a little bit noisy including a repetitive high pitched beeping sound (like from a distant smoke alarm that needs a battery replacing or something) but I slightly expected some noises due to the location. I used the earplugs they provided (nice touch) and listened to a podcast and then I couldn't hear the noises and I slept very well.
Amazing location for the Elbphilharmonie and for exploring the harbour. Friendly staff. Room was more spacious than I expected. All very clean and charming. Single bed was small but comfortable. Breakfast was nice but nothing super exciting : bread rolls, ham, cheese, boiled egg, orange juice and a little salad. Having read some other reviews I was worried the room might be too warm but it was about right (although it was November!!!). Great shower water pressure. They let me leave my bag after I checked out and come back for it later.

AustraliaSingle room very small which was OK for me, but a tall person would struggle to fit in the built in bed. Shower also very small, but still OK. Biggest issue is the noise when they have live music - it conducts through the steel hull of the ship so there is no way to minimise it. Even with ear plus and a noise cancelling headset you could still feel the beat. But they don't have music every night.
Unique experience staying on a converted ship that is loaded with charm. Staff were super friendly. Location is very good for exploring by foot. Breakfast set in nice. Waking up to see the water through the porthole is very cool.

United KingdomDuring the day, there is a lot of noise from the restaurant, so if you like to have a 'siesta', use the supplied earplugs!. Fortunately, it is very quiet at night. The bunk beds are surprisingly comfortable, but they are very high off the ground and you need to be reasonably fit to climb on and off. They would be no good if you are quite overweight and have mobility problems. The rooms are small and in the tiny bathroom, there are many opportunities to bang your head! I enjoyed the unusual setting, but I wouldn't recommend it for more than a couple of nights.
This is a quirky, very unusual hotel in a great location. My room was a ship's cabin and I felt like an Edwardian explorer, about to begin a voyage. The ship also has a very good bar and restaurant that serves delicious food. If you find bland chain hotels depressing, this is the perfect antidote!

DenmarkThe heat was unbearable. Due to safety the portholes are welded shut and there is no a/c. The small fan did not help as it only circulated the 36 degrees hot air.
Lovely old ship, located very central in Hamburg habor. The cabins are small and have a genuine feel of being "at sea". Might visit again in winter time, when cabins hopefully are cooler.

United KingdomNothing. it was fabulous.
Very quirky with fabulous staff. The food was great and the bar is fun. Anyone staying here has to accept that this was originally a light ship so don’t expect perfection instead be happy that there are places on the planet like this that you can stay in.
