Located close to tram stations and Durlach station. A few restaurants and shops can be found within 5-10 min walk. The area is quiet and not busy. Rooms are well appointed, with full amenities and the staff are kind and helpful. Breakfast is also nice as they put out small portions and replace them very quickly when they need to be replaced- food doesn't sit out on the table forever like in some places.

    Unpractical room layout, quite small.

A pretty standard average hotel. Could be far worse but it also lacks a bit of soul. But not bad at all. Breakfast is great though! Can also get a €5 discount per day if you hang up a sign on the door in the evening that you don't want your room cleaned the next day (they still come an fill up toilet papers and soap though).

nothing except being told not to use the fridge in the room for our own use?????????????? for the drinks only as we travelled down over night by car and brought our snacking food with us this had been ok previous must be the new hygiene rules?

every thing hotel staff food beer wine restaurant location tram, train, and car links with easy access off/on the autobahn area was lovely too, much to see and do plenty of places to visit on foot or by public transport great beer from the restaurant plus you can by a 1/2/or 3litre glass vessel to purchase some beer to take home

The Vogel brau restaurant seems to be part of the hotel - it's in the same building and has a connecting door. You can even put your meal on the hotel bill. However, if you have a problem with the restaurant, as we did (our two identical main courses were served 20 mins apart - without apology) the hotel then insist, "Oh, the restaurant isn't part of the hotel". This then reflects poorly on an otherwise excellent hotel.

Modern, stylish hotel in a quiet area - just minutes from the autobahn. Excellent breakfast, friendly staff.

They didn't open the underground garage door when I got in front with the car, so I had to find a parking on the street (very difficult since the street was all busy) and walk to the reception to explain that I want to park inside. Magnetic room key demagnetized when I put it near the smartphone.

Clean and tidy. Good breakfast, nothing missing. Whole staff with a smiling and kind attitude. A real 4 star (but I got an upgrade to Junior Suite so I don't know about the standard rooms)

fantastic modern hotel; breakfast is very complete; champagne, fresh honey, several serials, fresh ginger tea. The rooms are very modern, good beds, tea and coffee in the room, top!. Parking was easy, close to the high way, location is easy to find and very service minded employees.

A kettle in the room would have been useful.

The staff were very friendly, especially in the breakfast room - I travelled with my little son and he got a lot of smiles and attention, which was really nice. I booked the chaper room which felt like it was awaiting renovation (somewhat outdated style), but was still comfortable and clean. Breakfast choice was great, lots of options.

mattress was soft in the middle ? needed changing or turning

Location, travel connections, roads, rail and the tram line, go anywhere. As for the hotel helpful friendly staff, local resturant joined to the hotel, brewed local beer, dark or light in which you can buy to take away ? in large glass sealed jugs. food was excellent either on the hotel for breakfast or all day in the resturant. go anywhere on the tram, straight into the centre of Karlsruhe. Durlach is lovely too with plenty to see and do, within walking distance especially the Deiser Turm, costs 2.50euros return up the cable carraige with a resturant up there too, with great 360* views of the local area, see for miles

Just a very small point to improve. No coffee machine at the breakfast. The offered coffee was very weak (to my taste). Some other hotels have a coffee machine, so you can choose what you want. I noticed that they use a lot of WMF stuff (knives, cookware...), so they could purchase a WMF coffee machine too :)

Very good hotel and service. Nice interior.

Why do smokers always have to have a spot next to the main entrance? It's not a great concept to first pass the fumes and then enter into the lobby. Smokers deserve more privacy where we can't smell them!
