Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Very tight bathrooms and toilets, no lockers, and not all staff speak English.
Kind staff they allowed me to check-in early because of my luggage, safe place, amazing food, comfortable rooms, and clean areas.

One thing that is the wifi. They have wifi but the signal doesnot comes to the room. I do not why. They need to work on it.
The room was clean. Bathrooms were clean. Bed was comforable. They have a resturant were you can take your meal anytime of the day. They have a perfect hotel.

I did not know at the end where to put the used towels, maybe an information during check in would have been superb. Everything else was as expected.
The property had the bathrooms which were very regularly cleaned which is the topmost priority for me. The rooms were also very clean and everything required was just walking distance away. Very close to Domplatz, so very calm at night, although due to the bar downstairs, it gets noisy earlier at night so near 10-11:30 pm

would have been nice to have something to make the room darker in the morning since it was already getting light starting at 6 or 7am but a sleeping mask could also easily solve this problem
very comfy clean beds, simple check in and check out, central location, great for price, bathrooms etc are newly rennovated and in great condition

Occasional tobacco smoke in through the window from the downstairs bar. The staff were the very busy bar and bistro staff, so when I wanted hot water to make myself a cup of tea (no kettle in room), it was clearly a pain for them. It’s a very popular and excellent eating place, very busy for breakfasts and lunches, especially at weekends. The rooms are very reasonably priced, clean and comfy, but no allowances made in the bar/bistro for guests with a room. I will take my own kettle next time!!

Some noise from downstair restaurant but it wasn’t too bad. Wifi worked in PM but cut off from evening time.

Good location, 5 minute to historical centre. Hostel was verry clean, friendly people. Breakfast has planty choise and the kitchen is open until 11 pm.

There no space in the shower to put my shampoo, I had to put on the ground. No towels, not wifi in the rooms, only 2 chairs in the room (4 people), no mirror in the room.
The personnel are helpful, friendly, and trustworthy. The room was clean. They facilitated my accommodation. The place is safe. The location is good and the neighborhood is calm.

The listing did not clearly state that we would need to bring our own towels and we arrived late after stores were closed. So we couldn’t properly shower with no towels. Staff were also not super friendly upon check in and also with the question of whether we could have towels. Also, the room was directly above the pub belonging to the property so it was pretty loud - both from patrons inside and from those outside on the street. Also, the door to our room would not lock from the inside and we were not the only people staying there, which was kind of an uncomfortable feeling, seeing as we are two young women traveling alone.
I liked that it was clean and modern. Also the location. The beds were comfortable.

Not all bunks had personal reading light and shelf (although mine did).
Nice location in old town. Easy to find from tram stop. Facilities are excellent. Showers, toilets and bunkrooms were kept very clean. Great value for price. Nice restaurant/bar on ground floor.
