Upon arrival, we had dinner in the hotel’s restaurant. The waitress was very friendly and the meals tasty. We were seated at a large table between two nice supper rooms. Our wish for a table in one of the rooms was turned down with the argument that all tables were already booked. However, until we left the Restaurant two hours later, the tables in the rooms remained largely empty. A little more flexibility here would have added to the overall very positive picture.

It was a spontaneous decision to stay overnight in Erfurt, as we wanted to see more of the city that has become so beautiful in recent years. And it was mere luck that we found this hotel right in the centre. Hotel Zumnorde is perfectly located to discover the city centre on foot. The room was spacious and very clean, equipped with a modern bathroom that offered all convenience. The room was located with view to the patio and terrace, so that it was calm. The breakfast offerings were rich. The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming; the young man at the reception and bar deserves a special mention for his delightful service orientation and kindness.

In the evenings, you had to buzz to get into the hotel, which had the reception on the first floor. A tad annoying at times, but staff were very quick to answer and allow us in.

A nice hotel around 5 mins' walk away from the 'old town' sections of Anger and the Fischmarkt along to the cathedral and church at the Domplatz. Staff were very friendly and it had a fantastic street view.

Noise from the airconditioning machines in the courtyard so you will have to have the windows shut, but there is no airconditioning in the room... Only German language channels on TV, but this is usually the case everywhere in Germany except in majoir international chains

Great value for money, central yet very quiet location, quality breakfast.

The mattress was a bit hard, so I put the 2nd blanket on the mattress and this made it soft enough. The bathroom has a rather sensitive motion sensor that switches the ventilator on at the slightest movement in the room.

The hotel was a very pleasant place to stay. I had business in Jena the next morning, only 30 min from Erfurt by train, and the hotel was an easy walk from the station. The area around the hotel is very attractive, with pedestrian streets all around, no cars, just trams. The room was very spacious, clean and quiet. The front desk staff was very nice and professional. I didn't have breakfast there so I can't rate that. There is also a sauna for the guests, open pretty late (until 22:00). Large and comfy bed, clean and spacious bathroom.

The extractor fan attached to a motion sensor in the bathroom.

The staff here are exceptional. Apart from their daily friendly professionalism, they took the time to urgently send by DHL to my next hotel my Australian adaptor which I had left behind. And because of their prompt action it arrived the next day. Thank you so much all Front Desk staff for such good service.

Many rooms face on to the court yard which is home to a restaurant. We were kept up by people restaurant patrons until late. Internet was unavailable for most of the first day of our stay.

The location was great. It was very easy to walk to all the major sites. The rooms were bright and very comfortable.

Only one complaint in an otherwise perfect stay: the scrambled eggs were awful- hard, dry and rubbery, so unusual for Germany. Nobody touched them, so they must have realised something was wrong! The 5 minute boiled eggs were perfect!

Lovely quiet room above courtyard with excellent walk-in shower and luxurious marble bathroom. Friendly, polite and obliging staff. Perfect location for the Old Town and transport connections on the Anger.

The wifi dos not work from the room.

The restaurant food was excellent & the staff very cheerful and helpful. The hotel had character, with many interesting elements, and the proximity to the old part, the Kramerbrucke, the Dom and the Hauptbahnhof made exploring such a charming city so interesting.
