However, many functions just don't work or are very worn. When we checked on Thursday, neither of the 2 elevators were functional. A few hours later, one was running, but bumped and shuddered on every use. On Monday, when we checked out, the ladders and tools of the elevator repairers were still scattered on the 5th floor lobby. We had not seen any actual repairers at work since Friday The most annoying thing was the smell in our room. It smelled like an entire bottle of purfume had been poured out. I could TASTE it. Even after leaving the windows open all day and leaving a note, in German , for the housekeeper, begging that no scented products be used, it was still overwhelming. When I smell ' air fresheners' being used, I always wonder what is being disguised. This would cover decomp. The scale near the bathroom was wildly inaccurate. The stopper in the bidet did not hold water. The shower tap handle fell apart in my hand but my husband was able to reassemble it. We did not try the 25 euro breakfast. At a coffee shop we got breakfast for 2 for 11 euros.

This older building has obviously been nicely redecorated. The paint and finishes are pretty. The bed is comfortable and the bedding and towels crisp and white. Our room was large and airy, with openable windows. Extremely convenient location, one block from the central rail station, which was why I chose it.

Unfortunately the breakfast area was being renovated. The hotel organized breakfast in the next hotel. but we just went into the center, which was fine :-) Next time I would ask for a bigger room, as ours had a wall in between which made the booked room smaller than expected.

The personal and the Lobby personal very very friendly and helpful. this was great!

The surrounding area has lots of construction projects, and Munich streets around the hotel need to have litter removed by Munich's public service departments, and sidewalks should be power-washed as they appeared very dirty.

We can't say enough about Julian! He was at the reception counter when we arrived and was excellent for customer service reasons. We are seniors, and my husband has some mobility issues, but Julian was very knowledgeable about Munich and helped us plan tour venues suitable for mobility challenges. The hotel accommodations were great, breakfast was good, and the hotel decor was very inviting and restful.

We have arrived early and the receptionist told us the room will be ready in an hour so we came back an hour and a half later but the room was still not ready which was not a big problem but this time there was another person on the reception and when we explained him the situation he didn't even let us talk and talked back to us like he was in a fight in a very rude manner (I don't know his name but he was wearing local German outfit not a suit.. Other than him, the other staff were very nice and welcoming. The pilows were very bad.

The breakfast and the location was good! You get 10€ refund if you don't use the housekeeping. The room was big enough and comfortable. The baby crib and the bedding was very good.

The room itself was a bit depressing, wouldn't have wanted to stay for a long time. The location is perfect for walking but not a nice area.

Fine hotel, location great for walking to downtown and arriving / leaving by train. Great breakfast buffet. Some Bavarian charm, if a bit artificial and overdone in places.

Power outlets are basically on the floor, with no dedicated one next to the night lamp.

Hotel is in a great location right on Stachus Passage. Very conveniently it has a Rewe supermarket next to it. Room (double room) was comfortable, with separate closet, small sofa and queen-sized bed. Breakfast is great, a variety of food, with prosciutto and salmon, scrambled eggs made for you on request.
