To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

FinlandWe were two teachers and 6 students and altogether 4 rooms. The single rooms that the teachers got were ok. The two triple rooms that the students got left a lot to be desired. One of the rooms had faulty doors - although locked, the room door opened several centimeters to the corridor so it was somehow loose. The door to the balcony didn't stay closed but slipped open all the time. In the other triple room the faucet was completely green with mould or algae. The room was dusty and the tiling in the bathroom dirty. In the window one of the panes of glass was broken - luckily it was double glazed. There was a lot of traffic noise as a result of the broken window. There was trash under the beds. The rooms were tired and in serious need of renovation. We had a hasty sleepover and had we stayed any longer, we would have asked for rooms that were up to code.
The staff at the reception were friendly and smiling. The breakfast was sufficient but not extremely varied.

Also I was promised to receive as part of the booking a welcome drink (for each of us), a platter of fruit, free drinks in the minibar....the only thing we got was a small bottle of water per person. That was disappointing 😕

HungaryThe free minibar was almost empty. Two bottles of water and one orange juice. Two years ago it was full with coke beer wine and other kind of drinks. Really poor offer the free minibar this way!
Good location, right next to the station. Easy access to the city and the airport. Clean room and bathroom. Both are spacious. Simple breakfast. In the past it was much better. WiFi works well.
