Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaWhen we lost our key (that part is on us) it took 3h and two trips to another location to get the correct replacement, and then at the checkout we got charged 50 euros for it. They said they normally charge 90. It was a basic key with a generic label that we could have copied on the corner for €5. So guess the lesson is, if you lose one, copy your replacement before checkout?
The location is great and the price, for Hamburg, is pretty reasonable. It has a nice vibe.

United KingdomI guess it really depends on your expectations. I was lucky to have a room out the back facing an inner courtyard, with less road noise, but as it was quite warm and humid during my stay, it meant that there wasn't much air circulation in the room and I guess, even having a fan in the room would've been great. A socket for mobile phones, maybe some USB connectors would be a nice, but I guess an overhaul of air-conditioning as well as heating would make a stay certainly more comfortable.
The Hotel is in a great location if you like your transport to be on your doorstep. It's in a hip area and will be great if you like to be right in the thick of it as there are various shops, supermarkets and restaurants just outside and around the corner. The room was not high tech but kind of cosy and had everything you would need for a stay, with the added benefit of a fridge with drinks, a kettle, and a coffee machine with tea and coffee provided. The staff, including the room attendants, were super friendly and that made me feel quite secure, especially as a solo traveller at that point.

GermanyThe hotel can get stuffy in summer. The check-in is very late, and there's almost no space at the reception in case you'd like to leave your luggage, so bear this in mind. The check-in as at 4pm, and the reception closes at 5pm, which pretty much doesn't leave you much choice, and your flexibility is limited. The vicinity of S-Bahn line makes it a little noisier, but they provide you with ear plugs, which definitely helps.
Fritz in Pyjama shows how boutique hotels can be accessible. It's a low budget stay with some extra perks. The focus in detail, from the naming of the rooms, until the toiletries they use, all is very thought through. Very friendly staff who goes above and beyond, and I appreciated a kettle in the room.

GermanyI missed power sockets e.g. next to the bed.
Very clean. Very convenient location if you want to visit the congress center. Just across the street is the S-Bahn stop "Sternschanze". Some nice bakeries, döner, shops, etc. in the proximity. Small but cosy room. No problem with noise at all, despite the windows overlooking the street and S-Bahn. Nice and friendly staff.

GermanyYou could smell the Kebap place below in the entire hotel, the ventilation in the bathroom was super loud ( it turns on with the light and stays on after you close the light) so I didn’t want to use the bathroom in the morning when my husband was still sleeping. There was only one spare plug inthr room so charging both phones wasn’t possible. it was first floor looking directly on the street so we had to keep the dark blinds closed all the time. I also wanted to put my towel on the heater during showering and wiped the heater before it was black.

FranceThe rooms/doors aren’t so sound proof — Any one opening a door or walking down the hall sounded quite loud. But by playing a little white noise sound on my phone, I slept well no problem.
The reception staff was very kind. The room was super cute and spacious! I also loved how easy it was to find and get to from the U train station.
