Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomVery small rooms and only one shower to cater for all of the rooms on two floors. This meant we felt we had to get up early so we didn't have to queue for the shower and/or have to use a shower that had already been used by many people.
The hotel is very characterful in higgledy-piggledy way - uneven floors, windy corridors and low ceilinged rooms. The rooms were tiny and the toilets and shower room (also tiny) were shared facilities. While we knew this in advance we were quite surprised at how small they were. They were adequate but we wouldn't have wanted to stay more than one night. Breakfast was fine.

South AfricaRoom was too small and quite uncomfortable - especially the bed. My room had only has one plug point - so you have to decide what you can charge first, your phone or laptop. If you want to watch TV, then you cant charge - alternatively bring your own multi plug and charger. Breakfast was OK but not of lot of variety. No air-conditioning with one small window. Wooden floors squeaked every time you walk. Narrow and long stairs, no elevator - but manageable. My room had shared bathroom - on another floor, was a bit awkward to access.
Location. This place is located right in the centre of the Lindau island. It doesn't get any more central than this. Everywhere on the island is well accessible - restaurants, bars, and many other interesting spots. The train station is right on the door step. Best place if you want to be out and about exploring this beautiful island and you don't want to spend anytime indoors. You truly would not want to spend anytime in this room - other than to sleep.

GermanyIt is an old buiding, which comes with some challenges. The floors slope to a rather absurd extent and the ceiling in the room was very, very low. If you are over 6 foot tall, your head will touch the ceiling. The room was also fairly loud, one could hear people coming and going both in the hallway and in the street below.
The location is extremely central, on a small street sandwiched between the harbor and the main shopping street. The hotel itself is quite quirky in a very fun and interesting way. The shared shower is not exactly convenient, but I appreciated the cleverness of the design and it was actually one of the best showers I have had on my trip. The rooms have a sink, which is very practical. The bike room was also very well done and very useful.

United KingdomTiny bathroom with the only (face) mirror and no space to store anything. The fold-down table in the bedroom is the only surface apart from the bedside cabinets, although there is a large wardrobe with shelving. Could use some coat hooks within the room so damp coats can be stored away from other clothing. No wi-fi throughout our stay, despite staff's best effort to get it fixed. We were told it had been fixed day two but neither of us could connect. On arrival we were given the impression that there would be wi-fi in the breakfast room and that we could access this. There was no connection and this room was locked once the Reception closed. There is, therefore, no communal sitting area anywhere in the house. The roof terrace and front garden were not in use during our stay, so our only option on return to the house was to be in our room with the bed and two hard chairs. It is, literally, bed and breakfast, with no access to hot or cold drinks, in or out of your room, other than at breakfast.
Great location, handy for everything but quiet and peaceful. Welcoming staff, clean and comfortable bedroom of a decent size, nice breakfast.

United KingdomOnly one socket in the room (and we had to unplug some thing in order to use this one) - I’m not sure to either charge my powerbank or to charge my phone or my sister’s phone Hairdryer is just there for a decoration - was so happy to see a hairdryer until I realized that I could not use it cause there was no socket nearby I can only see one shower room (I am not sure how many this is shared between) - but I would say it’s fairly clean Breakfast - be early or eat what’s left - they hardly refill the food; the one time I saw them refill (bread) was based on a request of one of guests who came down for breakfast late Details about late check-in is not clear - the direction we received says that we could check in late and there will be a pin code to receive our keys after filling up personal details and pay tourist tax but we never receive such information. Whenever I asked ‘how to pay tourist tax, if we are arriving late?’ it seems like the response is auto generated and it will tell me the same thing: late check in is possible, etc. However, when I called few hours before arriving the property to ask about our check in details, the guy was nice to request us to call him when we arrive and he did come to us when we rang the buzzer at around 9.30pm (train delayed).
Late check-in is possible. Even if you did not get a check in details, you can ring the buzzer and someone will come to you, but I guess you should at least let them know beforehand. The person at the reception (manager?) was really helpful - when I asked for a toothbrush when my sister lost hers during the trip, he gave us one and the quality is fairly good - when I asked if he could help me print a document, he said yes!

United States of AmericaNo A/C. Had to bring the room key to lock the external shared toilet behind myself. The public parking lot that was recommended to us was a 30 minute walk or a 20 minute walk/shuttle bus ride away. The staircase was tight. No elevator. No plugs by the bed.
Location, friendly staff, extremely well-prepared breakfast. They took covid rules seriously. They gave us a card with benefits around the island. We used the card to get a boat ride cheaper and to take the shuttle for free. There wasn't one thing that was unclean, including the shared bathroom.

SerbiaThere is no parking, and there is no bathroom inside your room and you have to use common bathroom with other guests, which is somehow incredible in 2022. If you want a place to sleep for a night while staying in this beautiful city it's OK. For more than 1 night - I have to say you don't want to stay here simply because there are no bathrooms. If there were bathrooms it would be a great place worthy of 9-9,5/10.
Hotel is on the great location within the city and the lake. Breakfast was great.

BulgariaThe place was hard to find, because there are no signs on the outside of the building, also no parking spaces near by. However this is nothing compared to what we have experienced in the evening. We reserved two bedroom apartment, because we wanted to have a place to gather in the evening. Even though it was quite small living room, we were happy with it, but then we found out that there is another door in our living room. It was locked and behind it was the bedroom of other hotel guests. Needless to say that it was not a nice experience neither for us nor for them. On top of that even though my reservation on booking said that we have to pay 220 Euro (tax included), we were charged 233 Euro, because of tax. Not a bad place, but I am not visiting it again, thats for sure.
Beds were comfy and the bathroom was ok. Breakfast was nothing special, but good enough. The staff was friendly and nice. The location is good close to the harbor, one of the reasons to choose it.
