Five Very Enjoyable and Restful Nights in Goslar

    • 2 rooms
    • Stayed 5 nights

Wifi needs to be stronger, pretty weak signal in the hotel rooms. This is a very minor issue and I did not bring it to the attention of the owners.

Peace and quiet from my room, 25, which faced the parking lot and the hills of the Harz in the distance. I loved the peace and quiet. Slept with wide open windows all nights and it was just lovely. I really loved the breakfast - especially the coffee delivery system! Pots of hot coffee are on the buffet table and you just take one! I just loved that. Excellent selection of items hot and cold. Nice, large breakfasts room with high ceilings and interesting paintings and a big tapestry. I ended each evening with a beer from the honesty fridge in the lobby, which is sadly not used by other guests. I had it to myself each evening while I worked. Internet is very weak on the 2nd floor and so not really able to work in my room. That was really not a problem as I liked to be in the lounge anyway. Private and secure parking on site. Close to many eating options. Fabulous customer service - thank you Sylvia.

Spent 4 days here on motorbike. Personalised parking. Very helpful staff. Great location. Quality breakfast and an honesty bar for out of hours. Tea coffee facilities in room.

This B&B hotel is excellent. It is a modernised hotel behind an 18th Century facade. Easy to find in Goslar and good parking in the hotel car park. Within walking distance of the central market place with it 'cafe-culture' restaurants and bars. Owner and wife were very welcoming and helpful and spoke perfect English. Highly recommended.

No elevators, only stairs - but we knew that. Limited parking which closes at 8pm: you can't drive in or out after 8pm as they close the gate.

Charming and cosy hotel located very near the city square and Imperial Palace of Goslar. The family room had a separate 2nd bedroom, and newly renovated bathrooms. Furniture was surprisingly modern, given the facade! Breakfast was great and sufficient with bacon, eggs, marmalades, yoghurts, fruit and cereals - together with coffee and wonderful variety of teas. Snacks to be purchased were located near reception and was on an 'honour system' which meant that you would take the snacks/drinks, note it down yourself and pay at the end of your stay. Hotel is less than 10 minutes from the City Square. Enjoyed walking and looking at the wonderful houses and colourful doors and flowers. Wonderful Town!! I recommend Brauhaus Goslar restaurant near the square.

The owners 2 key policy plus 20:00 curfew meant for our 2 teenagers, moving around the property independently, resulted in having to ring entry bells. This got a negative reaction from the proprietor with an unnecessary demand 'where is your key?' every time.

This small but beautifully appointed hotel, was a true example of merging the old with the new. The hotel itself like most of the buildings in this village is fully preserved on the outside to reflect the original build style which is some 200 years old (if my memory serves me correctly). Quaint and quirky and you could imagine days gone by where horses would have been stabled outside whilst guests relaxed inside. On entering the building itself the staff were extremely friendly, the foyer was again quaint but in keeping with the style of this hotel but also bright, fresh and clean. Our room was a comfort room situated at the top of a staircase, my only slight criticism being that there was no lift which may cause problems for older guests as our room was 4 flights up the stairs and I am not getting any younger. On entering our room however, it was obvious that a great amount of thought had been given to ensuring the layout and facilities provided everything a guest would need to feel comfortable and relaxed. The interior of the rooms was fully modernised and up to date with a fridge, tv, plenty of storage space, good lighting both main and ambient and sumptuous large bed with decent pillows (a must for most). The bathroom was spacious, again fully modernised, clean and comfortable. For the smokers among you, of which I am one. Again great care had been taken to ensure a comfortable, covered, clean and tidy area with table and chairs was provided outside, enclosed within the court yard, protected from the elements. All in all as seasoned travellers, for the price we paid of approximately $120 for the night, it was perfect and for me fulfilled all the criteria I would expect for the price. The price included breakfast which was a full buffet, mixing Continental with English style. As native Englander's the perfect choice for me and my wife.

The lady owner/manager was very friendly and orrered advice on restaurants etc. in Goslar as hotel does not have a restaurant as such.We were very happy with the accommodation which was very clean and quiet. Breakfast was superb with a great choice. Whilst not exactly in the centre it was only a 10 minute walk to the market square where there were plenty of cafes and restaurants.
