How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

one of the blinds did not work properly, but the host said they would repair
The host were very reactive to any request and anticipated needs we had and we did not even ask for.

The wifi network was pretty weak.
The location was perfect! A short walk away from the pier, restaurants, the park etc.

It was cold in the apartment. When we arived it was 14C in room! We found haw to improve the temperature! They are keeping some big dogs, smell very strange! They took from us deposit of 100 EUR, like we are some unruly guests, even the expencive price was full paid from our company in total in advance!
Close to centar of the city.

Can't say that I didn't like it, but the name of the apartment was a bit misleading. It was called "executive" apartment, while in the reality this is a very nice family apartment. May be, adjusting the name would be a good idea.
The location of the apartments are very good, close to the lake and city park. Hosts were nice and friendly. They have answered promptly all the questions we've had before arrival and met us at the property when we have arrived. This apartment has a separate entrance and a very nice small garden shared with several other apartments. It created a special atmosphere.

The hosts were more than friendly and super flexible and accomodating. They invited us to a special dinner and cultural exchange that was super warm and interesting! The location is excellent. Easily to reach by train, walking distance from lake, supermarket, main attractions in Friederichshafen and transportation by boat or train to explore surroundings of Boden see.

The hosts were very friendly and the location was walking distance to all the Friedrichshafen attractions. If you are a cyclist, there are very well marked paths to your adventures.

The neighborhood was noisy at night, which is no fault to the owners. That being said, if I were to visit Friedrichschafen again I would have no issues staying with Karl & Family again. The walking and welcoming outweigh the noise.
Karl & Family were quick to respond and very welcoming. They spoke English, which is always a benefit for us since we struggle with our German. The apartment was very clean. It is right next to a train station so that is a bonus if you are looking to travel more. It was walking distance to just about anything you could want.

The furnace was very noisy and made the air too dry ... We couldn't sleep at all. The bed had syntetic sheets ... not comfortable at all ! The owner responded to this review with a rude comment, with lies ("small surcharge"), and with personal remarks.

All electronic and kitchen utensils in the apartment are both top quality and fully equipped. That's why we were able to eat different meals of the day both in the garden and at the huge dining table in the kitchen. The furnishings were very comfortable and clean. Thanks for everything!

I had to work one day and the WiFi was not very stable.
The studio was very modern and very comfy with a full kitchen and lovely bathroom. The location was very central, with lots of restaurants and the lake withing short walking distance. We traveled with our small dog, so having a closed garden was important as well as having a big park across the street to walk him. Parking was also secure and next to the property. The owners were really nice and even invited us to an evening of wine and fun stories.

Perfect location close to the ferry and train station and to the restaurants. Comfortable flat and pet friendly. It was great and hosts were very helpful

For me everything was very good. The house is super complete, the kitchen has all the utensils and pots. The location is just a 10 minute walk to the Katamaran Ferry, it's a highly recommended ride to Constance.
Great location and very comfortable. I went with my two cats and they were very well, they could also go in the garden of the house.
