How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

we had a room with balcony, this place had plenty of character. we loved location on the hill and views, stayed for two nights with 3y boy. restaurant and staff were amazing. we want to come back for the view and restaurant experience)

Rooms are a bit outdated but charming, clean and have all confort needed
Superb location and very friendly staff. The restaurant serves delicious food and has a terrace with a panoramic view. Rooms were large and clean

It was not obvious where reception was on arrival, but we found everything we needed at the restaurant. we had asked for a quiet room, but the room above had young children. Noise travelled between floors🙁 Rooms not as special as we had expected, but it was clean and comfortable. The only one thing that mess up our stay was when we came to reception to check out, we offered to pay for the meal and drinks we had the previous night. But we were told that we would be invoiced via email, we found this very strange. later that day we received an email invoice and we were surprised to see a request for payment, rather than showing a payment on our card. They requested payment via bank transfer, which we were not prepared to do. All came good in the end, as we shared card details and payment was taken. No big deal, but not what we expected.
The location was fantastic, as was the food and the staff. lovely peaceful surroundings, art and sculpture everywhere. A climb up the hill is worth the effort, as the views are spectacular. An abundance of wildlife. Loved it.

That I couldn't stay more.
The breakfast was very good, variety of food types, everyone can choose based on personal preference whatever they want to eat. Fruits, eggs, bacon, bakery products, jams, cheese, fish etc. This place is a real gem in the mountains. The view is fantastic, the hotel staff is the kindest I've ever met, they all speak very good English (and German for sure :)) The meal was fantastic, actually this is/was a Michelin guide advised place for eating and the quality of the food reflected this in every way. The WiFi was more than enough for working (MS Teams calls with video feeds went smoothly), the rooms are clean, comfy and sophisticated.

The room that we stayed could use a fresh painting. And apart from the bed, the room furniture was not really cozy and not really fitting to the style of the house.
Excellent location, fantastic terrace at the restaurant/breakfast area, when the weather plays along it is perfect to have breakfast or dine there. The rooms are big and the bed comfortable. Breakfast buffet was not extremely rich but had all the basics and we were all in all satisfied. The personnel was very friendly and helpful.

There were no convenient meals at the property (as it says on Booking), we had dinner there and there was just a la carte menu. The restaurant is incredibly expensive and there are no child-friendly options. Food was very disappointing. Breakfast was ok, nothing special.
The rooms are big and comfortable. The property is in a great location, if the weather is nice, breakfast is served in a terrace with amazing view of the valley. The staff is all very helpful and kind.

The wi-fi is spotty and if you are trying to link to emails, download files, etc..; it is not easily done. In any case, to be fair, cell phone reception and internet is not great in the area to begin with. So it is not just this hotel's issue.
The hotel and its grounds are beautiful and a nice change from staying in a city environment. The views from the restaurant are fantastic and the food is top notch as well.
