Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaAn alarm will go off from 10 pm till ? (we had to leave at 6 am) which is a great as protection and sleep interruption. In a room of 6 the first person asleep was before 9 pm. Number 5 arrived after 11 and number 6 after midnight (I was still awake). So budget wise great but if you want a good night of sleep it would not be my choice again
Excellent location. Less than a three minute walk to public transportation. Staff interaction great. Each guest has a (narrow) locker available in the (multiple occupancy) room and each bed has a lamp and outlets. Mattress was (surprisingly) comfortable.

United States of AmericaThe window curtains are not blackout ones so light comes through in the morning. And the rooms on the street side you can hear cars and trams going by. Not huge deal tho. I will stay here again if in town.
Nice and quiet. The location is nice, close to the tram station Olgaeck. The single bedroom is spacious and clean. Very comfortable.

GermanyThere's no hot water from washbasin, it's cold to wash face and to brush teeth in the winter. You can heard when someone walking on the staircase, but it's depends where is your room and which type of room. 6 bed dormitory is quite noisy since some move in late at night and some leave early in the morning. Last time I stay in 4 beds dormitory it was way better and bigger space.
Good location near S bahn with good price, people are friendly

NetherlandsI had a very horrible roommate in my dorm. I didn't quite feel safe actually. For hostels, it's important to make sure you have ways of dealing with this, as everyone is sleeping with strangers in a room. I didn't find any number of info on how to deal with this. Would've been nice to know that the hostel tries to prevent unsafe situations.

NetherlandsFew toilets per person, resulting in dirty toilets. Although it was winter time, it was already quite warm in the dorm room. Without a/c, I can't imagine getting any sleep during summer time!

United KingdomThe hole in the locker was too small to use with a standard padlock, so I could not store my luggage securely. The bunk beds were very squeaky. The dorm room felt a bit cramped with most of the floor space taken up by the beds and a table and chairs.
Had a large kitchen (although it was a little difficult to find anything!) and a communal dining area. There were quite a few showers and toilets in the hallway, so I never had to wait, and they were kept pretty clean. The hostel is only a few minutes' walk to an underground station, or a 15-minute walk to the centre of Stuttgart. There is also a Lidl a few minutes walk away to pick up groceries.

AustraliaNote, there is NO LIFT (for those with access issues). We stayed on the 3rd (or possibly 4th!) floor with a family of four with four large suitcases. My husband got a big workout hauling our bags up! The kitchen prob needs a good clean - bowls of food left out, dirty cutlery in drawers - maybe guests need to be reminded to have some manners.
Good location, near supermarket and public transport. Access to kitchen facilities.
