Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyThe bed is too soft and we didn't feel so comfortable. The Internet connection was really bad during our stay.
The hotel is together with bar/restaurant. This is good when you want to have something to eat easily. The size of the room is good. The shower is refreshing. The place is easily reached by train or by bus. It is also possible walk by foot until the center city and it is really an amazing path.

SwitzerlandNothing not to like.
Great room. Nice shower. Comfy beds. Sky TV was a bonus. Coffee machine. Fridge. It was very hot in summer so the air conditioning was much appreciated. Good location. Easy to walk to the old town. Plenty of restaurants and bars close by. Nice quiet neighbourhood.

I have to say, the bed is incredibly comfortable, and the soundproofing windows make a significant difference in creating a peaceful environment. Everything is nice and clean, which adds to the overall pleasant experience. It's been a great stay!

GermanyOur room was facing the busy Reichenaustrasse, so it wasn't exactly quiet. Parking was difficult but we were aware of this before. Breakfast was generally good but rolls were, for example, cheapest quality and jam was served in little plastic packs.
Good location with walking distance to old town and Badisches Landesmuseum. Clean. Very friendly staff. BodenseeCard included in room price. Two small water bottles for free. No audible noise from Irish Pub downstairs (we didn't go). Would consider again.

AustraliaNot a drawback, but suggestion for improvement: I don't understand why there was no room service. There is a pub downstairs. Many guests would be happy to pay to have their food brought to their room. Somehow, a lost income opportunity.
A solid choice. The room was nice and the bed was comfortable. There was a little fridge and a kettle. There were a few stains on the curtains and bed sheet, but it looked like those were old stains that didn't come out in the wash, not fresh ones. Not a big deal. What might be a deal breaker are the thin walls. You can hear next door neighbours as if they were standing in your room, right next to you. I'm noticing this is a common theme in German hotels. The rooms can also get hot and stuffy very quickly, but you can ask reception staff for the remote to the air conditioning unit. Yes, you have to ask for it and then explain to them that just because the outside temperatures are low in the morning, this doesn't mean the 3rd floor room, which gets the full afternoon sun, is also nice and cool, Not something you want to do for this price.

United StatesClose parking was hard to find, but a car is unnecessary if staying around Konstanz.

United KingdomThe breakfast is a little pricey, especially as there are cheaper places to eat breakfast nearby.
The staff are very welcoming and speak English very well. The restaurant menu doesn't serve much in the way of traditional German food but the burgers are about the best you'll taste anywhere., The rooms are spacious with a large double bed and, importantly, have air conditioning, which I don't remember seeing on the list of facilities. There's also exterior blinds which completely black out the room if desired. The room service is every day including Sunday and provides bottled water and tea/coffee making items. The hotel is located close to the lake for sunbathing, although it does get busy and has a 'student' vibe. A few minutes walk away is a paid lakeside location providing a good family space for safe lake bathing. The location is about a 10 minute level walk away from the old town centre, and the no.6 bus is frequent during the day if you don't fancy walking. Oh and the bus is free for hotel guests paying the city tax! There's no private parking at the hotel but we never found it too difficult to find a space in the surrounding streets. The bar has a theme night on various days, for example, Karaoke / Quiz nights, which are well attended and good fun. That said, we never heard any noise two floors up, as the sound proofing is excellent. I understand the hotel was refurbished about a year ago and the manager runs it well. It's a good location for exploring around the lake by car or ferry from the old town. In summary, we found it an excellent experience staying at the Bilger Eck.

Czech RepublicThe hotel is on a busy street, so opening windows for the night is a bit problematic because it gets quite noisy. It is also a bit hot in the room below the roof. Having a work station (table with chair) in the room is great but in the room below the roof you can't really sit there because of the roof slope.
The room is large enough and well-equpped. The bed is comfortable. Everything is clean. There is an electric kettle and refrigerator in the room.
