Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The bed was quite uncomfortable as the mattress was really hard (not what I’d personally go for). Also the room got quite stuffy with the window being shut during the night as we didn’t want to leave the window open as the street outside was quite busy with cars.
The location of the property was perfect being directly across from the train station. The staff were super friendly and helpful, letting us leave our luggage before we checked in and after we checked out so we didn’t have to drag it around with us. The room was quite small but it was clean and the bathroom was spotless.

The hotel is very basic, but this is what we expected for a hotel with such a great price in this area.
The room was surprisingly perfect for a one night, no frills stay. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Our room had access to a nice balcony with a great view of the city.

The only thing we found annoying was not being able to fill our water bottles from the bathroom tap. The shower cubicle was tiny and we're not fans of shower curtains, especially in such a small space.
Great location directly opposite Hamburg Central Station, and lots of Christmas markets within easy walking distance. There was a nice view of Station area from our room. We had ordered a small room, so were pleasantly surprised to find that there was still space for 2 small bedside tables, and charging plugs on each side of the bed. Breakfast was good, although hot items were limited to boiled and scrambled eggs. Liked that there was fresh fruit salad - thanks. Breakfast was available from 6.30am which was helptful. Hotel staff were nice. If you're a fan of great bread rolls, try the bakery at the station. The soft bread pretzels with seeds were so delicious we went back for more.

The design of the hotel is pretty outdated and very simple. Also the reception is very small and doesn’t have a bathroom for waiting guests to use.
The location was great and happy breakfast was included. Staff was also friendly.

No Aircon and ventilation in room. For ventilation you need to keep the windows open and whole night you get noise if vehicles on busy main road that is a nuisance

The location is ideal for anyone wanting to see Hamburg city center. Our room was more than adequate, although not luxurious. Breakfast was a joy, lots of choice and certainly a great start for our day. Staff were absolutely first class, very courteous and welcoming at all times.

The breakfast is extremely boring, the room it is served in is more like a silent canteen. Some staff were very good e.g the 19th December. First visit appeared not to care less

If you’re staying for a few days I would probably recommend that you choose some other hotel.
Old building with new furniture. The proximity to the station makes it ideal if you are travelling and need somewhere to stay for a night. But if you’re staying for a few days I would probably recommend that you choose some other hotel.

The guys in the reception were not really talking German/English :( I could hardly understand. The room was super small
Location - good for travels, but not really pleasant for evening walk. Breakfast - simple, but quite good choice, products fresh, coffee ok. The room was clean.

The room decor was slightly dated.
The hotels location is directly outside Hamburg Central Station. The building itself is lovely. We stayed in a triple room and there was lots of space. The breakfast was simple, but still had a decent selection.
