Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesVery tiny lift! But they have one! A bit of a walk to restaurants, probably 10-15 minutes.
Very comfortable bed! Good shower and air conditioning. Staff spoke Engish and was very helpful for restaurants in the area and directions to old town. Had a good size refrigerator and coffee machine with good directions in English. Also, parking was great.

NetherlandsFriendly and outgoing staff, very good breakfast, good dinner options. The lounge is a good place for some unwinding and drinks. Food & Drink offering is till 21:30. The rooms are clean, have a balcony with outdoor seating with nice view of the surroundings. The bathroom was clean and the shower has plenty of water pressure.

AustraliaWe found the room too warm.
The stand out feature for us was the decor of the breakfast room and the whole breakfast experience. So nicely done with individual pots and jars of items and presented beautifully. I'd go there just for that. It was also extremely handy and easy to use the tram into Heidelberg, number 26 I think. Plenty of car parking space at the hotel

GermanyThe public transportation was a little bit far away from the hotel.
Everything, the room was big enough for three people, everyone had enough space. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The decorations of the hotel were very beautiful and made you feel cozy. The personal was very friendly. And the food was really great also!

GermanyOnly the distance from the town centre, but the tram was 2 min walk and then took 10/15mins which was no problem.
Great location off the main road, plenty of parking on the right side as you look at the hotel. Electric car charger is attached to building, ask reception to start it for you at 0.69c kWh. Restaurant attached it a wine bar with lovely light bites. Staff were very attentive and spoke English too. Room was a good size and clean. The price was very reasonable and we had needed to move our arrival a week, which was accommodated without hassle.

NetherlandsAmazing staff, super friendly! A+++. Rooms are neat and clean, not the newest but no problem. The breakfast is awesome, and the lobby bar has great service and wonderful whiskey gin selection. Would definitely book again! Not in the city center but the tram to town leaves right outside and by car you can reach the hotel very easily.

NetherlandsThe rooms could use a refurbishing, but they were fine.
The hotel was perfectly located from highway (we were passing through). The hotel is cozy, the rooms are simple. To get into the old town we took the tram which stopped in front of the hotel. In the evening we could have drinks in the cozy bar/lounge. The breakfast was A+++. More than enough parking, and we were glad we didnt have to drive & park in the old town.

United StatesHotel is a bit dated, carpets mostly. The shower gets the floor all wet no matter what, it drains but it could be better at keeping the water in.

AustraliaNot much. Minor things such as shower was a bit of a squeeze, dinner menu limited to Flammkuchen (thin base 'French/Alsace pizza), though very tasty.
Breakfast. The best ever, no kidding. Cheeses, meats, salmon, marmalade, honey, chic spread. All nicely presented at the table for each guest. Plus juices, yoghurt. Great atmospheric bar/pub. With impressive whiskey selection. Had my first Bavarian bourbon there. Great local wines, too. Nice outside seating area. 1 min walk to tram stop for the City (15 mins if that much). Trams running every 10mins during the day. Alternative restaurants in walking distance.
