My flight was delayed so I needed a hotel near to the main station to travel further the next day. I was travelling alone with two suitcases. I got a room on the fifths floor, to get there you have to go upstairs to seconde floor, use the elevator to the fourth floor and than go upstairs again to the fifths floor. With two suitcases. Alone. The staff said it is not their task to carry the luggage. No help, just ignorance. Never again

Old fashioned bland decor, small rooms, no tea facilities, dated, beds ok for sleeping in after a night out, but not comfortable overall. It is value for money overall. if you just want something cheap an cheerful.

The hotel is dated, it could do with a revamp, however it is cheap to stay in , and you get what you pay for, it is clean, staff are nice, location is good, Would i stay here again, not sure, if I found a better deal elsewhere then No i would not go back to this hotel. Close to all the Gay pubs and clubs.

Hotel has great potential but there is a lack of attention to details in cleaning and maintenance that makes the pictures on booking a bit deceiptive. Solo female travellers : not a great area to walk on your own at night. No international channels, only German TV.

Close to train station, got a quiet room at the back but bring your earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Buffet breakfast was ok. Bed was confortable.

The bed surround was broken and had been unsuccessfully fixed with glue. At breakfast they ran out of eggs. The orange juice was cheap orange drink. The atmosphere was a bit sombre - not much smiling.

Lovely clean and comfortable bed, good shower. The coffee was good.

Very dirty hotel. The breakfast was bad. No fruits or vegetables. Just one variety of cheese. The yoghurt wasn´t cooled. The room was coming down and dirty. Also a big spot of bood or something else was on the Bed frame. Mould in the ceiling surface of the bathroom. Also mould in the tile joints.

Booked a non-smoking room and it smelled like an old ashtray. Checked out another room which was worse so we stayed in our initial room. Shower full of mildew. Bathroom fan sounded like an airplane taking off. The mattresses were broken down and worn out from the 1000's of other previous guests. Holes in the walls, gum and dirt on the carpet. The neighborhood is totally unacceptable for families with children or women travelling alone. Too bad I didn't take pictures. The place was a disaster.

    - When we arrived at the room (at about 23:00), we couldn't turn on the lights because the lamp wasn't working. So we had to see only by the toilet lights. - The staff though it helps you, not showing much available. - The room and the bathroom weren't clean enough. - The glasses in the bathroom were plastic. - The room was a bit cold. - The hot water in the shower wasn't enough for 2 persons. - The shower curtain was dirty and small so the water was coming out of the shower. - There was no towel for the feet at the shower and generally the towels were giving the impression that weren't clean. - There was no soap to wash your hands but had to use the shower soap. - Generally the hotel wasn't very good and I think that reflects the rating feedback. It is just to go to sleep for a single night. We check in late at night at about 23:00 and we check out at the morning at 11:00.

    - Very near to the central train station and bus station. Approximately 7 minutes walking. - The double room was bigger than we expected. There was a (old) couch and a table. - The reception print our boarding passes and we left our luggage there until the afternoon. - A polite gentleman at the front desk told us useful tips about the train that goes to the airport. - There is a supermarket opposite the hotel. - The breakfast was in general ok and the breakfast room was large enough.

If you cannot live with the odd loose toilet seat or the proximity of a migrant neighbourhood, this is not an ideal hotel for you.

The staff were friendly and efficient. The included breakfast was great. We liked the room, which wasn't spacious or bling-bling, but, hey, you've come to visit the city, haven't you? The hotel is close to the Kulturhalle, the Gewerbemuseum and the Hauptbahnhof. From there it's only a pleasant 700 metres-walk further through the main shopping street to reach the city centre. Tips: Lange Reihe for food and Max & Consorten (Spadenteich) for drinks. Thumbs up from us.

Fair warning, while we felt perfectly safe in our room, the streets are a little rough. Sirens go all night and one morning walking to the station we saw a guy almost falling on his head trying to light his crack pipe. Also, the ricketty lift only runs from level 1 to 4. So try and avoid the 5th floor if you have big luggage.

The hotel is located conveniently close to Hamburg HBF and is also not far from a trendy cafe strip and the lake. The rooms were nice and tidy (although a good air conditioner wouldn't go astray) and the breakfast was a substantial spread.
