How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content

- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

This was our second stay here. Excellent accommodation and restaurant. Good, free on-site parking. Comfortable and well-equipped, spacious, modern rooms. The extensive UNESCO Bergpark is a very short walk away. Kassel is an excellent stop-over on the way to Poland from the UK. It is a very green city.

I would liked to have had the option for dinner at the hotel on Sunday, but that seems to be a Germany issue.
Lovely hotel with great personal service. Location is perfect, a 10 minute walk to the Bergpark. Dinner was great and the breakfast choice was good. Staff are great.

The check-in was super quick and the rooms were very neat and clean. The location is nice, not directly in the city center in case this is important for you, but close to the mountain park and the train station if these are important factors to you. Breakfast was also really nice and the staff was very friendly.

the sauna didn't work when we stayed there (and something very specific: I kinda disliked the weird carpet in our room, would have liked the normal 'flat' once more, but I know that's personal preference)

It is quite far from the Documenta venue, but can be reached by tram which is free with documenta ticket. It takes about 25 minutes and the trams stop next to the hotel and come about every 10 minutes. Outside seating area is right next to a big road.
Very spacious room, excellent restaurant. Well trained staff.

A bit noisy early in the morning. Sounded like there were construction works going on nearby.
It is 20 minutes walk from the Kassel Wilhelmshohe train station. There are small restaurants and shops nearby. Tram stop to the city centre is right outside too. Swimming pool is great. Staff at restaurant were nice - Thank you!

Noisy rooms, no air conditioning, one of the waiters at the restaurant was too strict to the point of being uncomfortable to ask him for any request.

Close to a sports ground and the spa area ist clean, but need a bit more care.
Beautiful hotel with delicious food and drinks. Spa area with everything you need. Close to the city center with comfy beds. Very polite and attentive Staff.

Bathroom could have been cleaner (long hairs on the floor). Bed has seen better times. A little pricy if you don't use the "Kur" facilities.
Excellent food both for diner and for breakfast. Friendly staff. Room had a good size, modern design.

We visited Kassel in the end of July. The hotel facilities where perfect, the room was larger than standard European size and the bathroom was comfortable. Breakfast was a buffet with all what we expected; bread of several sorts (they have a good baker), yogurts and cereals, coffee, tea and juice, vegetables and fruits. The safety issue under the corona restrictions was observed. FischerS is situated just near the hill of the ‘Hercules monument’ and the wonderful fairytale gardens. Unfortunately, the Water show, that take place daily, was not permitted under the corona restriction. But the gardens are wild and beautiful. We took a bus uphill and went down back to the hotel, it takes a couple of hours.

It’s a bit in the modern side style wise - but I think they are working on making it work with comfortable and high standard interiors.
Perfectly off the highway - relaxing surroundings, warm hearted staff and gourmet food. Bravo.
