How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty

- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

A fair distance to the city centre. We had a bit of difficulty figuring out the bus schedule. The hotel breakfast was very expensive, so we opted out.
Spacious room with comfortable beds. The staff was very friendly and helpful in every way. Large bathroom.

The fact that we had only buffet food for dinner which had very little options for the price which was a lot 21 euro per adult for a buffet, considering drinks were extra. All there was on offer was prawns and pork . There was pasta and salad and when we asked for bread which needed to be replenished , it was still frozen in the middle. We had arrived down for buffet which we were told would be available from 7pm on and arrived at 7.20pm and potatoes and bread were gone. Also when we asked for tap water there was none available and we then paid 7 euro for a litre of water between us. It would nt cost much to have filtered or unfiltered tap water in a jug for customers considering that water was freely available at reception . Other than that all was fine. I would recommend the hotel for its location, comfort and cleanliness but for food options not so much.
It has a nice decor, was nice to have refreshing water at reception desk on arrival. They were good to facilitate us with two rooms close together. Nothing to complain about the room was fine and comfortable.. the free bottled water was a lovely touch.

I didn't understand that the location was not so central, but that was on me :)
Breakfast was very nice. Staff was really great. They made more croissaints when there weren't any more left. Always attentive and smiling.

The location is really not the best, located outside of Heidelberg. But if you take a bus its like 15 minutes to the Oldtown. Take care which hotel you book, this is not the one in the middle of the city.

the room was fine, but it was too hot inside and the air conditioner was only set to maintain or increase the heating.

the fruitflavored water/apples/candies at reception. the fact that when the sauna/fitness room door could not be opened and we had to wait over half an hour they prolongued the sauna opening time for us. The birdsong dro. the inner xourtyard in the morning. The ease of xhecking in.

We had a big room and the breakfast was tasty. The room and other hotel areas are well decorated. The hotel is dog friendly. The location was perfect for us: not far from highway, but with enough green areas to walk the dog.

In general the rooms were fine and looked clean. In the morning we saw the cleaning staff who started to clean the rooms. He was friendly and seemed nice but he was leaving a trail of bad smell wherever he was going. He might clean well but it’s not nice to imagine that your rooms were cleaned by people with not good personal hygiene.
The staff were friendly, the check in was fast and easy. In general it was value for money

Wi-Fi was not always consistent. Gym is not really a gym.
Room was comfortable and spacious. Staff welcoming and available. Breakfast had everything. There is free parking in the nearby.

Minor negative, I was told there was a charge for parking which I don’t think there was last year. For an out of town hotel I think parking should be free.
As always staff were very good, reception and bar staff spot on. Comfortable bed and nice room. I didn’t have breakfast but I know it is good from past experience. Good access to/from north/south autobahn so handy as a stop over.

Everything to do with the hotel was fine. One complaint, which is MASSIVE about our holiday. We booked seven nights over the Christmas week, looking forward to having 24 and 25 December dinners in the hotel. My husband called several times in advance of the trip to try to book for these meals but was told each time 'it would be fine'. We arrived to find the restaurant was closed on both nights. We thought this meant 'completely' closed but it was in order to cater for a group, each evening. So we, residents of the hotel, could not be accommodated for our meals. Not many places open in and around Heidelberg on those two dates so our holiday was spoiled. We will not be using your hotel chain again and we have advised all our friends about the situation. Such a shame.
