Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

BelgiumThere is a main building in the pedestrian area of Speyer and a dependance in a side street of the pedestrian street. I would have like to have a room in the original Maximilian hotel. The dependance had nothing like a lounge or anything. I got the door card key at the bar in the main hotel and just entered the room in de dependance and that was it. I would have chosen an other hotel at a better rate at the same distance from the pedestrian area if I had known in advance.
The room itself was clean and comfortable. Modern interieur and the bed was good. I liked there was a coffee station. No tea bags available though.

RomaniaDoor cards get imactivated at 10am. If you are outside at the breakfast, you can’t get back in the room. Unfriendly staff will remind you that checkout should have been done by 10am.

FinlandDouble bed but only one pillow and blanket. It looked bad and cheap. Fridge door did not close. The staff was not very helpful or nice. Check out is at 10am!!! Next year it might be at 8am in Germany. Ridiculous. 12-13 is the normal check out time.

We were delighted to find that our bikes could be safely stored near the hotel at no cost to us. We were also very pleased with the breakfast which was excellent and good value for its cost which was quite minimal. The location of the hotel was also excellent.

The room was large and well decorated. The glass wall into the bathroom was unexpected and striking. The site was very central and an affordable public car park just a few minutes away. The staff in the Maximilian knew what to do to let us into the apartment and were friendly.

United StatesThe WI Fi was too inconsistent and we needed it to be more reliable. No streaming services that we could tell but we watched cable, which was fine.
Amazing room, turned out to be a two story lift situation with a big bathroom and a small kitchenette. Quiet, private, centrally located. Very clean and modern, easy to pick up keys at the restaurant. Great to have the discount as well as a luggage storage option.
