The parking entrance, so tight that you are at risk of scratching your car if you have an SUV.

The staff was friendly and the hotel has a beautiful garden.

Bed was too firm. The bedding and pillow had feathers which I am allergic to so the first night was very cold and uncomfortable as I could not use the bedding however the staff changed this for me the next day and all was good after that. I did not notify the hotel of my allergy as the booking.com details said the room was allergy friendly. x1 middle aged male staff member was unfriendly but everyone else was lovely. He was rude to me on arrival at 6pm as he had tried to call me to ascertain arrival details but I was flying from the UK and the booking said I could arrive up until 10pm so I did not realise this was needed. Also on my last evening when I wanted to settle my bill due to an early start the next day he would not do that and also seemed unhappy because I wanted to pay for my drinks by card. I have a work credit card for expenses.

Quiet location and room. Good breakfast. Nice location near the lake. The ladies in the morning and the older and younger gentleman were friendly and helpful. Shower was nice and hot. Room was clean. Mini bar was stocked each day with apple and orange juice as well as water, coke and wine. All reasonable prices. Free WIFI.

The bathroom could do with some modernising but it was clean and functional.

Located out of the city centre in a quiet but affluent neighbourhood made the stay really peaceful. The breakfast was varied and tasty with a great selection of German and continental European dishes. The furnishings where really nice and thematic for the manor house. The hotel is actually right in front of a bus stop that takes 15 minutes to reach the centre of Hamburg. It's much more convenient than walking from the S-Bahn.

One of a kind, old style, but cozy, we had some room on the same floor as the reception just to the right, and our kids were just screaming out of joy. When we entered it, it has a sort of second floor inside the house where the kids go to sleep

Breakfast was pretty limited as it was just a continental breakfast, everything is getting a bit old, carpets worn, etc. No lift and heavy bags could present issues. Pillows were feather type and were very flat, ended up using cushions off the lounge.

Location was easy access to Hamburg city centre, bus stop very close and buy ticket on bus for 2.50 euro. Parking out the back of hotel easy but limited so pot luck if you get one. We were in an apartment in the building next door which was huge.

I would have preferred a slightly larger bathroom. It was awkward to enter the shower, with the toilet positioned right in front of it. I am also not a big fan of shower curtains.

Rooms could do with updating. Bathroom very small in our room. Be aware there is no lift and we were on the 2nd floor.

We arrived in Hamburg for a conference of taiko drummers, and we chose the hotel only because of its proximity to the school where the event took place. As soon as we saw the hotel we were enchanted. The foyer, the colors, the romantic design, the smiling welcome. Even before I finished taking pictures outside, my husband already got a cup of coffee. In the morning, an excellent and rich breakfast awaited us, in one of the most beautiful halls we have seen. All of this is located near the Elbe River and allowed us to enjoy long walks in the spectacular park along the bay. Our days at the conference were happy and the hotel was the icing on the cake. Warmly and lovingly recommended. Don't forget to say hello to the staff on our behalf.

It would have been nice to have a couple of English TV stations. Just at the end of a long day sightseeing to watch and unwind. It wasn't a huge issue as free WiFi (kids went on tablets) and we had books with us.

The hotel was in a excellent location for public transport. Bus stop right outside which took you straight to town. Underground about 10 min walk which we used to get to and from the airport. It is an oldy worldy hotel with lots of quirkiness (which I love). Have a look around all the floors....lots of things to look at it. It won't suit people who like really modern hotels. Our family room had a cute little upstairs balcony which had a bed (the 15 year old loved it). The 11 year old thought the built in safes were funny. He stored his chocolate in one! The staff were all lovely and helpful. Housekeeping was done every day and was lovely to have. The lady in the breakfast room was attentive and very welcoming. Breakfast was your usual continental. Breads, ham, cheeses, yogurts. Plenty of it all. My boys loved the chocolate for breakfast! We ate in the local Blockhouse restaurant on the last night. Amazing food and very friendly staff. Great value too. All in all a great hotel in a fantastic location.

The bedroom was dark and required lights on at all times., And not helped by dark furniture, but I guess that was in keeping with the old original character of the building.

The location was excellent, bus into city was on the doorstep, underground train close by and Alter Park 10 mins walk. The hotel was quaint with many original features, staff were obliging and pleasant. Breakfast were typical continental fayre.
