One of the beds wasn't at all comfy - had springs that dug in . The other twin bed was fine though! Furniture and décor on the shabby side.

    Staff were helpful.

Not an especially warm welcome by the receptionist!

Perfect hotel for a short stay to see the city. Purchased a group ticket for the sbahn, ubahn & buses each day & great that bus no. 3 stopped right outside the hotel. Rooms were large with comfy beds & great to have a kettle.

It's a little bit far from the city center and there are few restaurants around this hotel. So the transportation is not very convenient.

The room is quite clean and comfortable. And the space of single room is enough. There's one organic supermarket near the hotel, which is quite convenient to buy some food or others.

Dirty toilet&shower curtain, smell of cigarettes in the room, low water pressure, no information folder available, remote control dead, not feeling safe. The hotel shouldn't have more than two stars really. Not a good value for money.

    Didn't like anything about it.

It seemed more expensive than I would expect, although all of Hamburg's hotels seem to be in the higher price bracket.

The location was good for some of Hamburg's attractions and the breakfast was comprehensive.

Customer service. Worst, most incapable and rudest staff at check in who made us go up and down 3 times carrying our 4 luggages without any apology (quite the opposite, she acted as if it was us who extremely annoyed her) because she couldn't read our booking correctly, couldn't give the right room, couldn't give the right key. Facility: dirty carpet full of spots, very small twin beds, duvet too small so cold all night. Basic standards of service and comfort not met.

Bathroom was clean. Male receptionist at check out was kind and professional.

The photos are not representative at all. It's an old, worn building, inside and out, which really needs a refurbishment and a paint job. I've seen 2 star hotels which are better maintained. Based on that the 90€ per night for a single room is too expensive.

    Location, late check-out (noon)

Room 507 was impossibly hot and impossible to cool with no air con. Had door wide open to corridor which was 10 degrees cooler, and fridge broken. Needed to borrow fan and leave on for 24hrs. Breakfast quality not as good as other hotels. Room felt worn out and dirty and needed modernising.

Large room, location next to nice organic supermarket. Short walk to great restaurants (vege and vegan)

1- First room offered smelled badly of cigarettes - although the hotel was supposed to be smoke-free. After a call to the reception another room was quickly arranged for though (despite a blatant lie at the beginning of the conversation: "We are fully booked for tonight! But let me see what I can do...") 2- The same first room had a small veranda which had apparently not been cleaned for a long time: an empty box of cigarettes and some candy still in their wrappers lying around... And the room itself too: with dead spiders inside. 3- Hotel policy was that keys must be returned when leaving the room, which we honored. However: one night we returned to the hotel around 1 AM. The reception was not manned and the room keys were lying around for the whole world to reach out and grab one they liked. Which I did for my own room, after it became apparent that despite repeated calls and sounds nobody would be manning the reception. But: it does not bode well for the security in the hotel, especially given that it is located in one of the raunchier parts of Hamburg... 4- Lighting in the room as well as the bathroom was rather poor.

One day the housekeeping staff forgot to put coffee in the room. When I asked for some the receptionist happily brought some over without making a sour face (hey this is Germany!)

We went to Hamburg to see Disneys Aladdin. Wonderful. The hotel is just a couple of minutes away. Very friendly staff. We booked two rooms, a single and a double. They gave us an upgrade, so that we could be on the same floor level. Great, and thanks again.

Please get rid of the Old Fashioned Symbol of your hotel which seems to be an old grey bearded sailor smoking a pipe. Your hotel is so much better than you symbol. Who wants to be identified with him? Indeed nobody...

This hotel is very good. Especially for the price. Very big renovated and modern rooms with a lot of luxury. One block away there are 30 nice restaurant and places (like Jordaan in Amsterdam). For the price I expected an ordinary hotel, but we got a very good hotel with a perfect breakfast.
