not much negative . Oh I remember..yes the wifi was questionable and there was no way of paying by card ONLY cash.... grrrrr... there is surely a modern low cost solution for the owners.. I travel internationally a lot and don't want to take cash with me everywhere... grrrr again.

The room was extremely clean and renovated so had everything you could want. Very warm room and comfortable bed. Bathroom is loevly albeit just a bit tight for space. It was winter and a sauna or hot room would have been nice , but really we were only paying for a pension. Just out of Oberweisenthal itself ( only couple of km ) and very close to Czech border. A night time stroll 200m took us to great priced Czech eating and a beer or three. The owners were pleasant and efficient. Plenty of safe , off street , car parking which I appreciate. Neat little extra of some international books to read in the lobby. Cute how the rooms were named after famous authors ( theme ) . Close to historic Fichtelberg rail track and little station across road ( Unterweisenthal ) Breakfast was great , relaxing and reasonable range. A good coffee machine gave great coffee too ! Proper espresso ..fantastico

    The internet connection was sporadic

We were staying because we wished to ride on the steam railway and the station platform runs parallel to the hotel. Breakfast each day was exceptional with such a great variety of good food. The hotel owners were lovely and chatty and interested in our activities each day.

No water boiler, no shower gel, a bit remote, no mobile phone network, internet worked every second day.

Room was of good size. Breakfast was all right.

Room was a tad on the small side but the roomy balcony made up for it. Window could not be opened. Possibly an issue in warm weather. Cash only English 101 spoken

If you are a RR buff you can't do better than this; balcony fronting the narrow gauge RR line. Between seasons, so we had the place to ourselves. 50 meters to the Czech border with good Czech beer on the other side,
