We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

GermanyEverything met or exceeded expectations. The only thing I would note and might be good to know (but is not something the Pension can change), there are church bells throughout the night from the church directly across the street. You get used to them eventually.
The apartment seemed newly renovated. The location was great, close to the Altstadt and Harbour also. Check-in was easy even late at night, and checkout was simple also.

Germany- We paid 70 EUR for one night and we got the ground floor apartment. Other guests used the Hof as smoke area and we couldn’t open the window. That can also explain the bad smell in the room. - Light, thin curtains. You don’t have intimacy and at 5 in the morning you wake up with the light. - To access to the building you get a code. A lot of guests they couldn’t open the door and they were noisy at night. A family with two kids tried to open the door with the code provided and they couldn’t. They had to search an alternative hotel at 22:40. Another guest tried to open the door without success at 6 in the morning. - It isn’t quiet as the description says. You can hear everything. Maybe this hotel can work as a bed and breakfast for backpackers, but for families and couples, it’s better to search for another places. Definitely overpriced.
The pension is in a really old building. The location is good.

VietnamNo bathroom amenities, not even a glass to put water in and wash your teeth with after cleaning. Complicated check-in process with no personal available. If you have a foreign sim-card with no roaming (like us) you won't get the access-data to open the dooor and the key-box next to your room. No free parking available, next public parking (with a fee) ten minutes walk away.
Location next to the old city of Wismar, room was of good size and quiet, huge bathroom, good internet, comfy bed.

GermanyWe arrived on a Sunday evening to find the streets and the city devoid of humans. Because of this, it left us vulnerable to a certain type of criminal activity, which was unlikely to re-occur for us. We warded this off with loud voices and by using our phone cameras as threats. It left us very subdued and we thought for the rest of the evening about going to a different hotel. Having thwarted this danger and having experienced it in other cities as tourists, we decided it was over and continued with our plans for a nice weekend. This incident didn't necessarily have to do with the part of town, rather with the time of evening we arrived on a Sunday, when Wismar is very empty and not well-lighted. It had the feeling of a certain organized kind of activity to which tourists can be vulnerable if they are not keeping their wits about them. We wanted to report this to our host, along with other difficulties, but he didn't respond to our phone calls to his contact number listed with Booking and he didn't have an answering machine or respond to our messages to that number. He uses a different telephone number for the keys which you only receive the day of your arrival and we didn't realize this was the correct contact number. We called to report lack of wifi because no matter how many times we put the password in, the wifi didn't work. Guests who arrived after us kept buzzing us from the street because they couldn't get their key. There was a problem with the lighting in the stairwell. One of our towels was in poor condition. The bathroom had no curtain. There is no reception and the person who could receive our payment was sick, so it was necessary to be in contact with the owner. The lack of wifi was problematic.
The apartment, with its good kitchen and two good bedrooms, was comfortable and clean, the beds comfortable. The location was central to both the old part of town and the harbor. The parking we chose was down the hill and across a street, very close and four Euros per day. Wismar is very beautiful. The oldest Karstadt is located not far from some great cafés at the square, where we had breakfast. We loved the view from the tower of the church, the rest of the church having been destroyed at the end of WWII. There was a very fun and amazing 3-d film, which we saw in English, about how the church was built. It was easy to get to the harbor from anywhere in the old part of the city. There we took a boat ride and learned a lot about the harbor and its history. There are nice restaurants in Wismar that are affordable and offer good food between our Pension and the harbor.

GermanyThe apartment #6 is pretty old, but hey, everything works. It is located on the ground floor, and the bed is just a couple of meters from the street where people pass by, but there are only tansparent curtains, so no privacy at all!
Location is good, just in the city center. Communication with the staff was also smooth and friendly.
