Nothing really - there was a wedding on so parking was a bit difficult but really that was the only minor issue.

My favourite hotel for the Bayreuth Festival. Its location in the peaceful mountains looking down onto the valley makes it pleasant and cooler if its really hot in Bayreuth. The rooms are super comfortable and super large with balconies and sofas - really more like suites. The large terrace to have meals on is superb and the staff are just wonderful!!! Its 30 minutes drive from the hotel to be in your seat at the Festspielhaus or there is a shuttle bus...Oh and if you want a food change there is a Michelin restaurant in the Post Hotel in the village...

The girls at the breakfast and in the restaurant are less than attentive. Although the restaurant had fantastic food, great views, and a wonderful atmosphere, you have to be a bit patient with the lackluster service from the young ladies. For example, at the buffet breakfast (which was very nice) you had to beg for a cup of coffee. The machine they had that makes specialty coffee had incorrect small cups. I watched three customers try to use the machine and then panic as the coffee overflowed the cups. All three were embarrassed and the service ladies just sat and watched like it was some sort of entertainment game show. No offer to help or to bring larger coffee cups to the dining area.

Awesome hotel with amazing views of the valley. They have a wonderful terrace that overlooks the valley and mountains. The Reception staff was very nice and helpful. Rooms were large and well maintained.

    Nothing!

The charming location and the hotel was traditional rustic and elegant. Have been to hotels that costed a lot more that offered a lot less. Large rooms, perfect beds, strong warm showers. The restaurant was also quite good with great cuisine!

Just a fabulous hotel - great setting and great staff. The food was excellent but what really made the difference was the real family feel of the place. We had a stunning room with sofa and huge balcony.

A perfect set for travellers to the Bayreuth Festival, located outside the town itself, which could be rather sticky in the hot summer days and nights.

    Not much really.

Fabulous hotel in the mountains above Bayreuth. We stayed here for three days whilst attending the Bayreuth Festival and left thinking we could stay for a week just as a holiday location.

Reception closes (literally there is no one there) at 10 PM so if you need anything beyond that time, or are you getting in late, you're stuck. I fancied a late night swim in the pool, but couldn't seem to access it without a member of staff at that time .

The hotel's location is perfect if, like us, you were attending the Wagner festival at Bayreuth. Room service was very quick and polite.

    Nothing.

We were visiting for the Bayreuth Festival and found this a delightful gem of a hotel a little way outside Bayreuth itself but still within easy reach. The location and (in particular) the restaurant and spa are superb.
