Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustriaThe hot water in the shower was a it hard to control. Other than that I have nothing to complain about. Given the location of the hotel, it's not going to be an area you would want to hang out in as a tourist. But it is closely located to transport and walking distance from the old town and museums etc. I wouldn't say the design is very high-end but it is a step up from most older Munich hotels I have stayed in.
Friendly staff, good sized room, very comfortable bed. Quiet room, despite huge building site outside, very good breakfast, complimentary beer and mineral water in the minibar. The hotel is located close to the Hauptbahnhof, which makes it very convenient for travellers, although the area is (like all big city railway station zones) a bit scuzzy. And there is a huge building site next to the hotel. But you don't see any of this inside the hotel. Price not bad for a central hotel in one of Europe's most expensive cities.

AustraliaA lot of construction work in the immediate area at the moment, Sept 2023, will be much nicer when that's finished.
Great location, right near Munich hauptbahnhof and connections to S-bahn and trams. Lots of tood and specialty shops in the station underground concourses. Lovely staff and great breakfasts at Schiller 5. Comfy clean rooms & a very handy laundry for guests in the basement

United KingdomWalk in the wrong direction from the hotel and there are quite a few sex shops and mostly men on the street, not great for a solo female traveller.
This is a boutique style hotel at budget price. 5 mins from the station. Spacious, stylish, clean. Lovely helpful staff.

United States of AmericaNo one tucks you into bed. However, I didn’t ask…..
Everything about my stay at Schiller 5, was above and beyond expectations. Location was extremely convenient, close to train station. Entire Staff were polite, informative and attentive. Entire property was spotless and properly maintained. And the room? Most comfortable bed, large bathroom with plenty of hot water, mini fridge with juice, waters and beers. Breakfast was beyond top notch, as well. I challenge anyone to locate a better breakfast with a better selection. I can not begin to list all the delectable choices. Schiller 5 and all the staff, surpass the highest of standards, for how a hotel accommodates guests.

AustraliaBed in our room was terrible but maybe was just that bed.
Location was excellent as 5 min walk from Central Train Station. Then a 10-15 min walk from central Munich so location was pretty good. Breakfast was part of deal & was excellent selection to choose from. Free drink @ happy hour a nice surprise & mini bar included (although only a few drinks included but still a nice touch). They also have washing & drying facilities for a reasonable fee on site which is handy as we have been travelling for 4 weeks. The owner introduced himself one morning @ breakfast & asked if everything was ok (lovely touch & lovely elderly gentleman)

United KingdomThe area around the hotel is not the best but it is perfectly safe. I have stayed there many times and have never had any problems, even late at night.
The staff are all very friendly and very efficient. I had a free upgrade and a welcome note with a jar of chocolates which was lovely. The 95 year old owner still greets everyone at breakfast. The breakfasts are very good with a very wide range of hot and cold food on offer. I have various food intolerances and always find plenty to eat. The location is very close to the main railway station and the Lufthansa bus to the airport. There are plenty of trams and buses nearby and it is very easy to get to all the main sights and museums.

FranceThe negative point is that the price was quite expensive for an overstay night. The district around the station was quite dark and there are some construction works around. The entrance of the hotel isn't well indicated, the entrance is kind of a side entrance in the yard and all the block around was quite dark (we arrived almost at midnight).
It was an unplanned stay in Münich due to the flight disruption that day and we had to choose hotel close to the public transportation from/to the airport and city center. So we choose this hotel as it was near the central station and all the city was almost fully booked. The room was very spacious and had a separate kitchen and there was also a seating area with a sofa. We didn't had time to enjoy the facilities at this hotel but we loved that the beds were very comfortable and the room had an airconditioner that worked very well in that hot day. The shower was very good as well. We didn't tried the breakfast as we were leaving very early in the morning. The staff were very friendly, We had a late check in which we really highly appreciated.

Convenient location (main train &subway station). This is a busy shopping street with some construction noise so would be noisy but they have good double glazed windows. Really nice rooms- cute extra amenities like radio in the bathroom, mini bar, better than the usual budget hotel!

IsraelWhile windows are soundproof and you don't hear the noise from outside which is great. You did hear the noise from rooms adjacent to yours whether people were walking, talking on the phone or closing the room doors.
My room was specious, facing the inner courtyard. The bedroom was separated from the small kitchen & entrance. I liked that there was a separation between the bathroom and the toilets. My bed was comfortable (I'm 190cm). There were two closets with enough space & most of important, it was possible to open the window (something rather rare these days). Breakfast was outstanding with a great variety of meat, cheese and fish along with sweets, fruits and bread types. As far as location, the hotel was about 2 minutes from Munich main train station (+S&U Bahn) and 5 minutes from karlsplatz (old city). There are several supermarkets close by that are really handy when you take a room with a kitchenette. The staff whether at the reception area, dining room or cleaning were very friendly. Always welcomed you with a smile. Every question I had was answered and I was given great suggestions for hiking areas and places to visit outside of Munich.
