German quality and good value for money. Very nice and super clean room in the Landhaus building, nice and service minded staff, great parking facilities, excellent food in the restaurant and a very good breakfast buffet. We were really positively surprised by the restaurant where we chose to have dinner. Delicious and creative versions of local German cuisine. You can really tell that the family running the hotel know how to do it and have done it successfully for many years. They also seem to put a lot of effort into the restaurant.

Rude service, awful beds, not worth the money

This is a family-run business where you don't get what you paid for. The service was altogether awful, the people rude. The room was tiny for the steep price and the bed (a boxspring) offered only a very thin topper as the "mattress" -- our backs hurt the next day. The "view" was that of an ugly apartment complex. I honestly don't know from which angle they shot their pictures because it certainly doesn't look like that when you drive up. The hotel is also directly across from the train station, which makes the rooms very noisy. When we arrived, the lady just put the keys in my hand with no explanation of how to find the room, what the facilities offered, or any other information. We got ready to head down to dinner at their own Weinstube, where we were told that all tables were reserved and there was "no room for you." So we went and ate elsewhere. After our dinner, we returned to the room to freshen up -- the Internet was not working. We went to the reception where an elderly gentleman couldn't help us and called for his niece. She discovered her aunt (who was there earlier) never checked us in, so the system didn't recognize us as guests for the Wifi access. The whole process took 20 minutes with no apology or kind words. Since this was a spa hotel, we inquired about the massage options. The three receptionists talked amongst each other and decided that the therapist was too busy to accommodate us. Again, no kind words or apology. They kept mumbling to one another. We entered the Weinstube again for a drink and a dessert, where we were told that they "could not give out the menu past 9pm" -- mind you there were people still eating dinner and the reason why we were late was because of the Internet issue. We tried to talk to the server, she would not budge. We ordered drinks and left.

The staff are not welcoming, friendly, helpful, international oriented, left us one day with no towels, no one around to get us towels, not be able to shower after long hot day sweating, no person on reception at night, no one answers your internal call, no one answers external call and no one answers the emergency call!, no parking available after 22.00, private parking costs extra, also closed at night. Staff smoke under our balcony, smoke come into our room when we wake up (really, really terrible!) Here? Never again far too expensive....many, many better hotels in the neighbourhood.

It's NOT a castle! It's a large house, has no resemblance to a castle what so ever, 0%

We waited for over 20 minutes for someone to come to the desk to check us in and then the person answered a phone call for 5 minutes. No attempt was made to engage us in conversation, no information provided on the area; in short we were not made welcome. Access to the 'castle' rooms was via an antiquated lift or stairs, the stairwell was used as a holding room for luggage. We would not recommend this establishment.

Waitress was very kind, but they needed additional help.

Beautiful hotel - just a few steps from train station. Our room was very spacious with a nice balcony. We had a fantastic breakfast in a beautiful dining room. All the guests had a reserved table. Our dinner in restaurant was my favorite of my entire trip.

Air-condition would help to cool the room a bit, it was too warm, it might be that there are not so many hot days ... but we just had one :)

They need to update their facilities offer. It is misleading. They do not have pool tables nor ping pong tables. So, no night recreation activity possible, except drinking wine :)

Great restaurant, great location. Easy to hike from Hotel to the Eltz Castle! Friendly staff as well. Very clean.
