quite old style, small and dark rooms, long walking distance form the parking lot to the the rooms, not more than average breakfast

kind staff, mice old style hotel in a park area close to the Saale river, very quiet. close-by to the Value Park of Schkopau

There was some kind of meeting which occupied the dining room up till 20.30, not nice when you planned not to drive anymore coming from far away, bit of a disappointment. Been eating outside. The bed itself could be improved to my feeling. Middle is a bit higher compared to the sides meaning you have the tendency of rolling "down". Beside of this it was clearly to hard for me waking me up a couple of times.

Room is good, silent hotel, wifi working good, room is having enough space. bathroom ok, shower good. clean. Breakfast good and wide arrangement of options. parking place close by free of charge, Price ok

If you happen to stay while they have weddings, nobody pays you any attention, you cannot even sit in the biergarten. You feel like interfering with what they are doing. The restaurant staff were positively rude. Food selection was narrow because of the weddings. A slippery bathtub instead of a real shower is always bad. We booked one large bed and got two beds simply pushed together.

    Nothing

Owner/management strategy is somewhat stingy (E.g. Soap in wall dispensers, no shampoo or conditioner, somewhat small and thin towels, EUR3 per night for car parking, EUR1.25 for postcards) Park has a somewhat municipal feel.

A proper schlosshotel - the outside world does not intrude and there are no jarring modern architectural additions. Breakfast (EUR14) had full offering right up to and indeed beyond the closing time of 10:00. Other aspects of staff service also very good, which is rare in eastern Germany. I don't know about the rooms in the converted (and extended) stables. In the main building I think only 215/6/7 are from pre-conversion layout, but other rooms on first floor (i.e. 2xx) were pretty comfortable, and "real" with enormously thick walls and so deep windowsills for putting things. Restaurant in very pleasant courtyard in good weather, and inside is a series of cave-like ground floor rooms.

The staff went out of their way - above and beyond - to accomodate food allergies (gluten intolerance) and created a special menu for me each day of the stay. The food was outstanding. The castle grounds are lovely and the rooms are spacious. It was an excellent stay.

Correct hotel name is Ringhotel Schloss Schkopau, not Ringhotel Schloss in Merseburg, which gives the impression that the hotel is in the castle in Merseburg, when it is in fact in Schkopau, some miles north of Merseburg

Very romantic surroundings, lovely terrace, good restaurant, friendly staff
