We can't think of anything that we didn't like about the guest house.

The location was very good and the staff made us feel very welcome. The area used for breakfasts was very interesting as it had loads of wine making parafanalia to look at. The bedroom with en suite was spacious, comfortable, clean and warm.

I made a booking for 2 double rooms and while my husband and I were given a very suitable room our companions received a much more tired room that has not been updated and did not have access to the WiFi-- yet the rooms cost the same price. Seemed bizarre. Was also frustrating that despite booking the rooms together, we were in different parts of the guest house (that had different entrances and required different keys to enter) -- this made coordinating more difficult.

Breakfast was suitable and our room was clean and well prepared. Bed was comfortable. The main center was a short walk away.

The showerhead was a bit odd but that might just be because I'm used to different.

The welcome was fantastic, especially since we arrived quite late, 09:30 PM. Breakfast was fresh and with plenty of choice. The room was clean, comfortable and I felt good in it. They make their own wine which made it a good choice to stay at Haxel.

Lots of stairs to our lovely apartment - no good for buggies, infirm or small children, who would probably want to be carried. - Not an issue for us other than lazyness when we had to unload and reload our vehicle.

Great location a few minutes walk from Cochem centre, ideal for our Christmas Market trip, and river trip. Also the secure onsight parking was great.

The staff was very kind and Sandra provided great service. She speaks English well and was helpful with all our needs. The building is old, but the furnishings are newly renovated and very modern. Comfortable bed in a clean room with quiet nights, even during high tourist season. Very close to walk to city center. We parked our car in the the hotel lot and never needed it the entire time, just walked where we wanted to go. Breakfast was the usual European style meat, cheese, bread, boiled eggs, fruit, granola, and yogurt choices with coffee or tea, all was tasty and satisfying. The hotel is also a winery/weinstube and their wine is very good, definitely buy some to take with you. This was our third time to Cochem and this hotel is a very good choice, we would be happy to stay there again.

This is a good ,clean hotel in the heart of Cochem. A 5 minute walk to the river Moselle and next to the chair lift. The castle is about a 20 minute walk, but the bars and restaurants are close by. Friendly staff that spoke good English. Also a nice continental breakfast buffet.

We enjoyed our stay. The owner made us feel at home and was on hand to offer any help if we needed it. The winery has a number of rooms in an adjacent house. We had a lovely room which had been furnished to a night standard. It was scrupulously clean and very quiet. We enjoyed a good continental breakfast and wished we could have stayed another night. Secure off-road parking is provided around the rear of the property. Free wifi is available - the service was provided only a few weeks ago. You are only a few minutes walk from the centre of Cochen and there are plenty of restaurants close by. A good find.
