A minibar and tea/coffee bar in the room could have been handy.

Food in the restaurant was gourmet, the room and the lobby area were functional, ideal and useful. Heating, garden exit, water pressure, illumination, desk were all comfortable, I loved the snack 24 hour ready.

We were sent a mail telling us that geniuses were entitled to free parking. Alas, this is not true. It cost €7 to park in the garage, not a fortune, but why offer it if it isn't available, as it is slightly embarrassing for the guest. And all guests can park free outside, not just geniuses, or idiots.

The breakfast buffet is one of the best (I can only think of one better) and the staff are always attentive without being trying. Marvellous choice and attention to detail (even the boiled eggs have the number of minutes marked on them). There are freshly made scrambled eggs if you prefer. For those requiring their services, there is a great bakery just across the road. The hotel uses their bread, and they will bake whatever you want in advance: German bread freezes well.

    - A minibar in the "classic" room would have been nice - Reception staff could have been more helpful in giving instructions on site-seeing tours an hiking routes - Restaurant in the hotel could be booked out! )we did manage to get a table in the end after some persuasion..close call)

    - Great SPA and Wellness area, plenty of choice and very relaxing - Room was nice "classic" category met our basic needs and great on the price - Dog-friendly hotel - Very nice old building with a charming atmosphere

    Nothing really.

The food in this hotel was superb, both breakfast and dinner were excellent. The decor and facilities are wonderful and there is ample car parking provided by the hotel: underground, at the rear and just down the road, as well as street parking around the hotel area. The staff were excellent and there was always someone available to help when needed. There is a park just nearby in which to walk and just under 3 miles away there is a monumental miners lamp on top of a renovated coal tip with super views of the Rhine and surrounding area. Well worth a walk or a drive. There is also free WiFi around the hotel and in the rooms. Moers is a short (911) bus ride away and the bus stop is very close to the hotel. The same bus also stops at the railway station. Oberhausen shopping centre is a little further away and there are lots of other attractions within driving distance. This is a truly wonderful hotel; we have stayed here several times and it has not lost any of its charm over the years. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property.

Some awkward moments with one or two staff members. But we were tired, maybe they were too.

The breakfast was outstanding and catered for all tastes. Fresh bread from the bakery opposite (always worth a visit, but NB closed on Mondays), eggs timed to perfection (and labelled), smoked fish, ham, sausage, cheese, jams and other preserves, fresh fruit, and good coffee. Staff generally friendly and helpful. Dinner was excellent.

We found the bed uncomfortable (but the hotel is hardly responsible for that).

Excellent breakfast, good location, scrupulously clean. Underground garaging.

The layout was initially confusing. The bar area is very small and when full is not a comfortable relaxing place.

Very nice good sized room. Clean and comfy. On site car park. Good wifi connection. Very nice breakfast buffet. Whilst the location was ideal for the event i attended the hotel is in a very quiet village some distance from bars and restaurants.
