Great location - but I'd never stay here again!
    • Leisure trip
    • Couple
    • Commodore Room
    • Stayed 6 nights

The rooms are tiny! I upgraded to a Commodore room and still barely had room to move around the very small bed. (2 people trying to move around the room reminded me of the old kids puzzle where you move tiles around with only one space on the board). NO AIR CONDITIONING. The rooms got very warm. The only relief was trying to sleep with a window open but that of course meant you got all the street noise keeping you awake. The alpine style twin beds seemed smaller than usual, with only 1 very small flat pillow. We ended up folding spare towels beneath the pillows to make them useable. Lighting in the bedroom was very poor, with only 2 small halogen ceiling lights in one corner of the room, (there were also a couple of dim bedside and a desk light). NO storage space other than a narrow cupboard with a hanging rail in it, useless if there for more than one night. I've seen bigger bathrooms in a caravan. You need to stand sideways in the shower and had little space to move. The sink was almost completely covered by the small shelf above it, and if sitting on the toilet you had to lean to one side as the sink would prevent you sitting upright.

Good location near the centre of Esbjerg, with bus stop right outside. Lots of good places nearby to eat / drink. Decent communal areas. The continental style breakfast was good - maybe a little expensive for what you get and during busy times certain items would run out.

Just one of the receptionists who was in a continuous state (as in over three days! ) of „mineur“ and disinterest.

Hygiene in bathroom, as they called “Cabinn” concept is bad, shower zone is so small, literally as in ferry. Reception lady does care about taking money a lot and do not care about visitors in general, parked my car as she has advised me to do and got solid fine for that in the morning. Personal impression: price vs value balance is wrong.

Cabinn was very clean with friendly staff and great location. The breakfast is good, with a nice selection to start the day. It is an "Economy Class" accommodation, but they don't cut corners on the things that matter. Comfortable beds for a good nights sleep!

There was not ventelation at all in the room. No air conditioning. NOTHING! We were told to open the window. This was not possible as we were on the first floor with all kinds of people going past. When you took a shower water went all over the floor. So there was black and white mold in the bathroom. When we asked for another room we were told they were full. The TV did not turn so you could watch it from the bed. Only one towel hook. Papir cups for coffee. No bar fridge. Parking is not free as it states on the wall in the rooms. "parking on the street" involves moving the car every 2 hours.

Breakfast was very basic but served our needs.

It is a budget hotel, so I was fully expecting the small size of the room (tiny). It felt like we were on a cruise ship with the worst cabin. Not sure why they bothered with a shower curtain at all, the shower is practically over the toilet. For the price, however, you can't expect much more. Pretty typical European budget hotel. The bed was firm and fairly comfortable, which is very important, but the sheets smelled like vinegar. All night we smelled vinegar. It was weird.

Location and the low price are the best things about this hotel. Just a few blocks from the main train station in Esbjerg, and right on the main bar street. One block over is the pedestrian shopping street. Everything in walking distance. Location was perfect. The breakfast was also great. Lots of options.
